Honestly can't say I've had any poor experience with foriegn call centres, all done what was needed.
So no it wouldn't put me off.0 -
I am not a fan of call centres myself to me they are modern day slave shops or workhouses in away thats my opinion.
So why would people not like overseas call centres?
People think that have taken the jobs of people in the UK
People don't like there personal data being accessed in India such as credit card numbers and very personal details
Here is my experience from various companies such as Banks and an ISP provider amgonst things.
Takes twice as long or maybe even longer to deal with a query.
Language barriers.
Unable to understand local dialect such as Geordie, Brummie and Scouse etc.
Staff reading from a script.
Rude Staff who don't listen.
Being told lies and wrong information.
Not being allowed to speak to a supervisor.
Being given UK names to sound like they are in the UK.
Have I had a good experience with an otherseas call centre?
Yeah I have my ISP Be* has theres in Bulgaria the staff are nice and polite they do sound a bit russian if that makes sense and hearing the name of my town on a recorded message saying there was a fault was intersting.
Ive spoken to an airlines call centre in America who im flying with soon and they was polite.
If people don't like overseas call centres you vote with your feet you leave those companies and have nothing to do with them.0 -

A rude unhelpful indian call center worker got me a £20 credit to my Am Ex account today as an appology for being treated badly.
I used the "how was our service form" that came my way by email a couple of days after my contatc to complain.I started with nothing and I am proud to say I still have most of it left.0 -
I have had better experiences with Indian call centres than british ones to be honest.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0

All of my experiences with Indian Call Centres have been poor. The most recent two issues have been as follows:
- BT - I was told that I couldn't upgrade BT 1571 to BT Callminder as Primus deal with my outgoing calls - this is total rubbish as 1571/Callminder are services that deal with incoming calls.
- Lloyds TSB - Security - was asked for last 4 digits of my debit card number. I advised that I had returned the debit card (which I would expect they can see from the screen) as it wasn't required. Subsequently, I couldn't access the account by phone as they failed to understand this.
In a nutshell - no, it wouldn't put me off using a company mainly because callcentre standards aren't the best in general. If it's something simple like "What's the balance?" or "Can you send me PIN reminder?" then I'd probably risk calling. Anything more complicated than that and I invest in sheet of paper, envelope and stamp and do it the old fashioned way.
Just my 2p's worth :rolleyes:43580 - BT - I was told that I couldn't upgrade BT 1571 to BT Callminder as Primus deal with my outgoing calls - this is total rubbish as 1571/Callminder are services that deal with incoming calls.

If it helps the banks meet the multi billion profit targets..
In India you get a cheaper slave. If the customers dont like the service ...then ...well what can they do about it !0 -
All of my experiences with Indian Call Centres have been poor.
Me too.
I called BT for something and the very very polite Indian chap asked for an alternative mobile number to call me on. When I explained I couldn't give him one as I had no working mobile at that point, he said he couldn't accept that as he HAD to have a mobile number. I offered a neighbour's number (who's my friend) but that was no use. He had a space for a mobile number and he had to fill it.
Talk about a regimented response!
The call was about a BT fault and since they were of no help, I switched from BT immediately after purely for that reason. I think he was more extreme than most, but it illustrated the problems with an Indian call centre perfectly imo.
M&S were the same, reading from a script with little regard to what I was saying. Also our insurance company (whose name I can't remember right now

Only had one experience with an Indian call centre, and that was with Three mobile. They had been taking money out of our account 3 months after the account was supposed to be closed (this was requested twice by phone and twice by letter) It took another month of phone calls to get it sorted.... The thing that made me laugh the most was when my OH asked to speak to a Manager/Supervisor, and 'Peter' said that it was illegal for him to put OH thru to a manager... They have some funny laws!!
I think it would depend on the type of account as top whether it would put me off. If it was an account that could be managed day-to-day online, it wouldn't bother me where the call centre was - I'd only have tp phone if it was something serious, and usually those depts are UK based'We are all in the gutter, but some of us are looking at the stars' - Oscar Wilde0 -
YES YES
I have an ongoing problem with 3 mobile and their Indian call center - ongoing over three months and still no further forward
will never use these persons again if possible !0
