Would an Indian call centre put you off an account?

Just phoned my credit card companies today and found the Indian advisors to be the most helpful and freindly. However a more complicated query as I mentioned earlier is overall best dealt with by the UK call centres.0

I'm getting fed up of struggling to explain myself to indian call centres...A lot of the time I make calls in my lunch hour, so don't have time to repeat myself 3 times everyh question...So I think, it will be quite a major factor in who I bank with in future.0

I have not had happy experiences with overseas call centres, as it is hard to understand what the operators are saying, and hard for them to understand us. I am not only talking about the different accents, I do think there are cultural issues as well. The Barclays one in particular is useless, and the people I have spoken to there have either given no information at all, or incorrect information, as they just do not seem to understand what the query is about.0

... what are you all doing ringing call centres all the time?
The only time I usually need to ring CS is when I'm closing an account. And for that it doesn't matter where the call centre is based.Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -

You can always try requesting a UK call centre straight away.0

A website won't tell you everything and the advisor will have access to more information than I can gain from the website.0 -
The time when you need a call centre is when you encounter a complex problem or need to ask a complex question that the normal website can't deal with.Paul_Herring wrote: »... what are you all doing ringing call centres all the time?

And that's when Indian call centres fall down, as it can be next to impossible to explain your problem/question, never mind get any sensible answer.0 -
It wouldn't be a problem if they could
(a) speak English
(b) not just read everything off a pre-written script in front of them.0
