Can anybody please advise the best way to make your claim against awd/legal and general, reading the several forums about this company I am sure we have been ripped off as well, ppi, life insurance and set up fees all being added to our mortgage. The only problem is I don't know where to start or should I use one of the no win no fee companies?? Thanks in advance for any help.0

Something that I wish I could say amazes me with companies such as Carrington Carr, are that the people that made money from selling ppi, are also making money from reclaiming PPI

To matters worse, as Carrington Carr are in administration, it doesn't payout for any successful claim that is left to the FSCS...We have just received the following letter from Legal General & General in relation to a PPI policy costing £7171 and sold to us in 2003 by Carrington CarrLimited. Does anyone know if there's anything we can do now? Do we take what Legal & General are saying on face value? Is our claim dead in the water?
"Thank you for your recent letter. I'm sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction.
Unfortunately we are unable to look at you complaint. Carrington Carr (formerly AWD) were solely responsible for any advice given on this type of of product orior to 31 October 2004, We have no infirmation on the advice given to you.
Normally you would be able to ask the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) to look at it for you, as Carrington Carr is in Administration. However, we have been told the FSCS will not look at it, because your policy was sold before this type of product became regulated.
I wonder if anyone has ever used consumer money matters to claim against carrington carr.0 -

And a lot of their mis-sales are prior to January 2005 and the FSCS wont take on those cases. Can anybody please advise the best way to make your claim against awd/legal and general, reading the several forums about this company I am sure we have been ripped off as well, ppi, life insurance and set up fees all being added to our mortgage. set up fees are allowed to be added to the mortgage. It is highly unlikely life assurance was added to the mortgage as that would be monthly premium. AWD did arrange single premium MPPI a number of times but unless you bought yours after January 2005, there is no-one to complain to. When did you buy the insurance/mortgage?I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -

Dave Fuher wasn't the only CC director to transfer over to Consumer. Many of their sales and telesales staff also moved over to the new company, and yes they did contact former CC customers in order to reclaim the PPI they had been sold.
BTW other former CC staff went over to a new mortgage broker http://www.platinumlifesolutions.co.uk/ who are based in the same building as CC and AWD Home Finance in Leicester. Andy Townsend who was a CC director is also a director of Intrinsic Mortgage Planning with Platinum Life being an appointed representative of Intrinsic.0 -

do we complete a ppi form and enclose a letter with it, might sound stupid but not got an idea where to start with this. Thanks for any help.0

You can do.
If they gave you some nonsense about paying £2,500 for future advice complain about that too because they never made clear that you would have to pay interest on it for the rest of the life of the loan.0 -
Yep, just fill in the form and send it off.Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0

Thank you for all your help with my requests, ppi claim now completed and legal and general have paid out.0
