I came across this site last year (about day 21) and entered, and shared with my friends, and was lucky enough to win a gorgeous watch for my hubby :j Well I've been keeping an eye on this site ready and wahooooo it's back and we're in at day 1 :j When I entered last year there were no British winners until me, and hopefully this year we'll wapp the backsides of the Europeans :rotfl:
The TrustedWatch Advent Calendar
A beautiful watch can be won every day ...
TrustedWatch is celebrating the festive season with a great Advent calendar and many attractive prices. We draw lots every day from amongst all the correct answers which have been sent in, with a wristwatch as a prize. You just need to answer the respective questions correctly and take part in the raffle.
The draw for the main prizes will take place every Advent Sunday, as well as on Christmas Eve. To win, a solution word must be entered, in addition to the correct answer. The solution word is revealed and derived from the previous week's questions: Each answer is provided with a letter code which, when combined, reveal the solution word. You've missed out on opening one of the doors? That doesn't matter; the questions can also be seen afterwards, thereby enabling you to glean the correct solution word.
TrustedWatch wishes you lots of luck and a Happy Christmas!

Question from the 1. December
Why monks used candles with metal balls for chronometry in the Middle Ages?
E - Sundials were proscribed.
F - Hourglasses were too impractical.
V - When burning candles, in defined intervals the metal balls fell in a bowl making a sound.

I missed day two as I enter late in the evening and as this is a German site there is a time difference. Might be something to bear in mind for others.
We're onto day three and I think the answer is:
R - In central Germany, about 50 km to the west of Leipzig!0 -
