Netbook not connecting to Wi-fi.

press Fn + F2 at the same time, and note if the wireless light comes on or not.

check device manager to see if the wireless card shows up

Have tried fn and f2 again but no wifi light comes on.In device manager the card is showing up and when click on details it shows is working properly.

Thanks for the replies everybody , still not sorted out fixing the wi-fi but am able to get online via the ethernet cable ( thanks very much Yorkie1) but when I take the cable out it doesnt recognise wi-fi and just loses the connection.
When I got online I re-installed the wireless drivers ( thanks espresso) but still no success.
My latest thinking is as I cannot do a system restore as it wont let me turn on this function (although I havent created a restore point ) maybe I could do a system recovery ?
Have pressed F8 as it boots up but the list of options doesnt include "Repair my computer" .

Anybody know of any way I could get a system recovery done ?

Have you checked if your wireless is working on your router (using the cable and going into setup) ?
Or are you using wireless on another device ok.
Download inssider on your laptop (using the ethernet cable) and see if it detects any wireless (you will need to go to the device bit and use the wireless card not the ethernet one) you can get it here http://www.metageek.net/products/inssider/
