Sky mac code

My mother has been waiting for over 4 weeks for Sky to pull their finger out and give her her code. Twice she has contacted OFCOM who have sent emails to Sky, but still nothing. Several phone calls to Sky advisors and promises of resolving this has resulted in nothing, they even claimed she didnt have Sky broadband.

Does anybody know the email address for the Head of Sky?

What version of Sky BB does she have? If she is LLU (which means her phone calls and line rental will also be with Sky) then the MAC scheme doesn't apply - she can take out a contract with another supplier and simply advise Sky that she is cancelling the contract as of X date (being the date the new supplier takes over).

She can check she is LLU by calling 17070 - if she only hears her number (and no other options) then she is LLU.

Note: You can't just change broadband if you are full LLU - you need to migrate the landline rental (and calls) to another provider too.

Who is she looking to migrate to?

They have 5 working days to provide a MAC. Has she actually put in a written complaint to OFCOM or just spoken to them?

You could still have Sky LLU broadband but have your line rental &calls with another, especially if she has been with them for some time. I did.
However they should still advise whether or not a MAC is appropriate.

Well the mystery deepens. Sky claim that since June 08 she was not supplied by Sky, they've refunded her 4 years backdated monies she paid, so ineffect she's now had 4 years free internet. The problem is Sky say that BT wholesale have the line, so I rang BT who say no we don't Sky do. Now her BB has been cut off and she can't move to Plus net as their insist ant that she needs a Mac code. When speaking to BT they informed her that it is LLU. OFCOM are useless they contacted Sky who just keep saying BT have her line, BT then say Sky have it.

    This whole process is pathetic.

If her BB has already been cut off, then no MAC is now required.
A MAC is purely for migrating broadband from one ISP to another.

I can confirm what macman said as it happened to me recently. If the BB is cut off the line becomes open (Plusnet were able to check this - not sure "open" is the correct jargon!) and they just pick up the line with no MAC code.
