No Buying Unnecessary Toiletries in December

I never got around to listing my stash either, but I did collect everything up together and then "filed" it so all like products were together, then whittled out all the started bottles, jars, tubes and made a conscious effort to use them up first (still quite a lot of long haul stuff to go). This has stopped me "trying" new items and helped me with the masses of those cute little trial/gwp sizes. Still a work in progress and I will not graduate until at least the end of 2013, but I do think about what I buy now and don't just pick up stuff because it is on offer, however much of a bargain! Also (mostly) rather than buy something to cheer myself up/reward me, I go and have a play in my stash and pull something out for a bit of a pamper session.

As it's now Advent, I've got the Christmas music on - Bryn Terfel singing Welsh carols - and I've cracked open the Avon Naturals Cranberry and Cinnamon shower gel.

Lovely seasonal fragrance, loads of lather (I use a body puff and have soft water, which helps) and it seems nicely moisturising. I followed up with the matching hand and body lotion - it is heavenly, but very thick for a lotion.

This is a plus, except it's in a tall, thick plastic bottle with a small opening. I can see it being stored upside down very quickly.
More pluses- it rubs in well and it isn't pearlised or glittery. Those glimmery, pearly lotions get everywhere with me. The inside of my leather watch strap was gleaming gold for months after last Christmas's Avon lotion.

Something I've been doing for a little while that I meant to mention, (or did I mention it?). Anyway, I realised I was spending a lot of time in the shower most days because of washing my hair and ensuring all shampoo/conditioner is washed out. I've got a shower timer (courtesy of Northumbrian Water a few years ago) but I couldn't get all done in the recommended four minutes, I found. Also the conditioner was being washed off almost straight away.

So... I now shampoo my hair and rinse it in the bathroom washbasin, then apply conditioner before stepping in the shower. The conditioner gets a bit of a chance to work before being washed off, too. I got the time down to three minutes this morning.

Good start to the month - 2 UU and 1 TA. UU a loreal perfect clean scrub and S ang G Flakeaway, and TA an Olay touch of foundation that had gone funky. I'm gonna crack this habit yet!

Good luck for Emma Valm a friend is a TKD double black or something equally terrifying, the assessments are incredibly nerve racking.

McCulloch29 you are very good only taking 3 minute showers. A combination of freezing cold flat, no heating in the bathroom and a heating system that lowers the temperature of the water when the heating's on, mean I spend more than that just trying to warm up the room before I jump in :rotfl:

Champneys spa indulgence exotic retreat body cream mini tub This was part of last year's epic boxing day haul. Was nice and I really liked the smell, but the next morning in the shower I would feel very thick and greasy, which was odd. WMBA.

Body shop spiced vanilla body wash full size Again part of last year's boxing day haul (a repeating and common theme in my products...) This was a LHJ as I use a japanese wash cloth. Was nice enough,quite creamy but couldn't notice any significant perfume on it after the first week of use (and it's been going for about 4 months) however I bought it on offer at £2 so at that price WBA.

Finally a note of frustration: has anyone else bought from the Boots online 4 days of Xmas? I was planning to get the Olay Regenerist kit as a present for someone. They emailed to say it was back in stock at 3am, and by 9am when I tried to buy it, it was out of stock again :mad:

Not the end of the world but it's clearly very limited stock on and so frustrating.

I think I last posted in July, then things got very hectic with a house purchase which all fell through two days before I was due to move in. I hope everyone's well, I've only been following the threads intermittently. I've been fairly good but have made some purchases. There are just soooo many offers that I resist, resist and resist then the next offer comes and I give in!

I'm trying to resist the TSV so looking through my stash for similar products to demotivate myself from purchasing.

I am definitely not buying the TSV, have been through my stash boxes as my list was not up to date. I already own Elemis cleanser, exfoliator, PCMC, shower gel, bubble bath and body oil. Although they are not all the exact products in the TSV and I'd love to try the new body oil I do not need it. Also I only shower at present as the bath I have access to is shared but I've an ensuite shower. I've managed to resist for 16 hours, just eight to go.

Shockingly I've totted up my day cream amounts and have 430ml!:o:eek: This doesn't include samples or 60ml of Origins make a difference which may end up being used as a night or neck cream.

Well done to all of you who've resisted.:T Val that's some order you made but as they are all items you'll use it will work out to be bargainous over the year.

My last hairdresser always used a spray, leave in conditioner by Revlon, called Equave, it is lovely, smells great, doesn't weigh fine hair down. I think Sally Beauty stock it, my bestie down there still uses it, she says although it is quite expensive, you use only a tiny amount and it saves her a fortune on water costs.

I spent quite a bit of time last night recording my stash list - rather than put sizes for everything I've just split into a full size list and a sample size list.

I haven't included make up because I pretty much never use anything up bar foundation but I know I need to ban myself from buying anything. The only toiletries that are off the list are sun screen and after sun plus anything for the teeth.
