A little pat on the back for me, just sold around £300 worth of cosmetics/beauty products on Ebay.
Rewarded myself with the opi mini bondette collection though still winning though I think?
I'll say. Well done... that must be really satisfying. Are you posting what you sold as outs?
Also wishing you strength not to refill the empty spaces in the stash!Erma Bombeck, American writer: "If I had my life to live over again... This is a plus, except it's in a tall, thick plastic bottle with a small opening. I can see it being stored upside down very quickly.
Something I've been doing for a little while that I meant to mention, (or did I mention it?). Anyway, I realised I was spending a lot of time in the shower most days because of washing my hair and ensuring all shampoo/conditioner is washed out. I've got a shower timer (courtesy of Northumbrian Water a few years ago) but I couldn't get all done in the recommended four minutes, I found. Also the conditioner was being washed off almost straight away.
So... I now shampoo my hair and rinse it in the bathroom washbasin, then apply conditioner before stepping in the shower. The conditioner gets a bit of a chance to work before being washed off, too. I got the time down to three minutes this morning.
I've got Yardley Royal English Daisy body lotion and it's a nightmare! It comes in a pump action bottle but it is way too thick, more of a cream than a lotion, and won't come out of the bottle at all. I have to take the top off and decant it into something else which is extremely messy. I also bought the shower gel, body spray and perfume because it supposedly smelled just like Marc Jacobs Daisy. I didn't think that just because the name was similar the fragrance would be, but loads of people on tinternet were saying that it was - they lied!
Never heard of a shower timer. Presumably it doesn't turn the shower off when your time's up? :eek:3 stone down, 3 more to go0 -

I grew up poor and seem to always be suckered by a bargain now - like I think I can only justify buying the nice things I can afford now if I get it on a deal. The fact it is only really a good price if I actually NEED it seems to escape me.
I have something similar, I take a perverse pleasure in being surrounded by things I've bought, and constantly justify my purchases to other people0 -

I really enjoying buying nice things.... but then the Catholic guilt complex seems to kick in and I feel bad about wasting my money again. A lot of things it seems the most pleasure I get is at the moment of purchase. Before I had money I used to enjoy what I bought rather more.
At least it isn't getting me into debt anymore, but I think that's only cos my pay went up faster than my ability to spend as I qualified at work and then got more experience. I buy more expensive brands things these days for sure.
Ho hum.... At least having nearly finished my Christmas shopping I can steer clear of the shops this month and then next year am going to have a big push to get things under control.0 -

OH sat next to me so can't linger:rotfl:
Ooh rosemary this could be your LBM xxWent to "posh" chemist yesterday to buy a new and needed mascara, choice of Lancome or Clarins, about to buy a Lancome and SA pointed out that they were doing a christmas gift set with mini eye liner and 30ml of eye make up remover for same price as mascara on its own, they did a 15% discount, which made it 95p cheaper than the house of Fraser price, and no petrol/parking or postage charge so well pleased.
Still dithering on the Elemis TSV, it is such an amazing price and I would use everything, off to check the shelf life as I have enough PCMC until the end of the summer, I tend not to treat my neck and decollette area very well, a quick swipe of body lotion, but at these prices I could be a bit more papering to myself.
VALM - positive thoughts for Emma, she must have worked so hard.
Nails painted OPI Berlin there done that, I love it.
Hi to the new girls, welcome, we are a friendly bunch here and very supporting when the going is tough.:D
The L'ancome offer sounds great. I'm getting low on mascara. Am using a GWP Clinique one that is feeling sticky now so needs ditching. Have another one of these to use and then have none. Probably a first for me. Yay I have nearly graduated in mascara dept.! I will be ordering from LE soon though so will end up using her mascara as it's the GWP this month.
I love the Elemis Neck and Bust Cream which is really effective if used regularly. I tend to get a bit mean with it though as it's so expensive.
Thanks to you and everyone who passed on positive thoughts for Emma. She passed with an 88% pass mark. She did brilliantly and looked formidable. She will be grading again in three months for her Ju Jitsu brown belt.
I love Berlin There as well. Am off work today as we're having the bedrooms fitted and awaiting delivery of emma's new bed. Am going to repaint my nails once I've cleared the rabbit hutch. Think I'll wear Live and Let Die.kiplingmonkey wrote: »VALM - masses of luck to Emma. Everything crossed.. One of my DD1s friends did a martial arts black belt exam recently and his was 7 hours long . 4TSVs - wow - Mr KM would never, ever encourage me to buy 4 of anything from the Q - you are very lucky.
Still haven't wavered on the Elemis - only 11 more hours of willpower required...
Thanks kiplingmonkey. It may be a hefty lay out now for the Elemis stuff but as it's full of products I use all year does work out to be :money: in the end.Back for the No Buying Toiletries challenge. I pledge to only buy when I run out of a product that is not already in my stash no matter what wonderful emails land in in my Inbox or threads I read on MSE re: glitches!

Thanks, am giving myself a facial at the moment using a rose mask I brought back from Bulgaria - smells rather lovely and should help combat the effect of the cold outside, my skin can get rather dehydrated in the winter.0
