T Mobile is it me?

Options
It might be me here but..... my daughter is 6month into a 2yr contract with TMobile, and she has decided that she wants a iphone for Christmas. The current contract is £13.33 per month, to get the iphone she wants is £26 per month plus a small charge to purchase the phone. Over a 2yr contract this would equal an additional £333 Yet despite the additional monies they would receive TMobile will not allow me to change the contract .

Who says companies want your money in todays recession.

Another "mustavitnow". Fully paid up member of the "ditchn'switch" brigade. That's why the country is in the mess it's in.

Tired of the shiny new handset she got only 6 months ago already? And because the network has done it's sums and calculates that the exchange isn't to its advantage, they are at fault.

Obviously not on your side here. Sorry.

    Of course they won't.

She's already in a contract. You'd need to take out a second. Or pay off the first. Changing your mind, or seeing a new phone doesn't mean that you can just walk away from the first contract - why should they? If they demanded the money but decided not to provide service would you be happy?

You mention the additional money Tmo would get, but seem to forget the massively subsidised phone....
  • The shinny new phone that you think did not come with the contact as it was a payg phone converted into contact . And surely the point here is that I am offering to give them more money afterall I am not wanting to leave TMobile.

What is the incentive to the network? The have her/you tied for another 18 months. Why not use this to u decline to her that a minimum term means you get what you agree to, and new things have to take a back seat. It might be a useful lesson for her in the future. 2 years is a long time to have an old phone round your neck.

The solution? Buy the phone for its non contract price on an auction site or Apple shop, and trim the SIM to fit. Then sell the old phone on the same site.

As buzby says, you're missing the point. Tmo already have a promise of your daughters business. That your daughter gave. If she doesn't understand what that means, then, frankly she's no business having a contract.

Eh?? A two year contract that doesn't include a phone?? A) I didn't think they existed, and B) if they do, you'd have to be mental to take one out.

I've only been using this forum for a couple of weeks but I've lost count of the number of posters trying to find some way to end a contract early, then complaining about the network when they can't.

Yeah but you also want a brand new iPhone which I suspect costs more than the £333 you are willing to give them over the next 2 years.

Therefore there is no incentive for them to do the deal.

What's wrong with the phone Your daughter has?

So, you want an iThing for £333? LOL.

Apple iJunk don't work like that.

Folk are falling over themselves to upgrade their mobile phones every six month. The mobile networks don't have to try hard to get (or keep) business. They have yours for another eighteen months, guaranteed.

How do you get a non-handset contract that runs for 2 years? Sim-only are usually either 30 day or 12 months.

Sorry, but your post seems to be a bit fishy.

I would ring T-Mobiles Sales team or follow the links to leave T-mobile after calling 150 (make sure you are speaking to one of them as nothing will be done) just to say you want a new contract and give the detials of the phone and minuets you want.

Then tell them you want the number you have with them already on a sim only deal to see if they can put a new phone pnto the contact.

Make sure you speak to somebody from the UK as the others cant do much as they follow what is on their computer and best to call as late as you can as I find better deals. Dont only try once.
