Highview Parking - Charge Notice for a purchased ticket
Options

*Mad*
Seems they are now trying to scam money from people who have already paid for parking.
My husband received a charge notice today from a car park he used in Leeds 5 weeks ago, luckily he still has the ticket which shows parking paid for 24 hours (he only used 5) and the credit card statement to prove his purchase.
What I would like to know is what if he had paid cash and lost the ticket? I know legally they probably wouldn't have a leg to stand on but how can a business be left to operate like this, waiting 5 weeks and demanding £75 for something already purchased. It stinks

Of course it stinks, the whole industry is the same, they operate on intimidation and lack of knowledge of what these invoices are. Where do you stand legally,? The only way they can enforce these invoices is through the small claims, you can prove you paid so there would be no loss. But let me put it this way in 2011 there was 1.8m fake tickets issued by the companies, 49 went to court, there were 25 wins for the motorists. So stand where you like it won't go to courtExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?0 -
We're not exactly talking about business with high moral standards. They're a very short step up from Nigerian people who send you emails.
And they've been scamming money from people who have actually paid and done nothing wrong for quite a while, you're hubby isn't the first and he won't be the last.
Appeal, and then let us know if they reject it, make them pay £27 to have it heard by the so-called 'independent' appeals people POPLA.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
The appeal is already in the post, I'll let you know.
It just such a shame for people (and no doubt there are many) that just pay up because they feel intimidated.0 -
That's why we hang about on here all day!
It is a bloody disgrace what these companies do.Je Suis Cecil.0 -
I've also had one through from Leeds today! Edward Street Car Park...
Unfortunately I don't have the ticket still but do have it on my bank statement.
Suppose I'll have to dispute it...
Think there a a few people experiencing this as seen the same on another thread.0 -
You could ignore it all if you wanted. Both equally valid options (I should point out that ignoring it is only recommended if you know the registered keeper personally, in other words its not a hire or lease car).Je Suis Cecil.0

It's a scam, they have no morals. But you could cost them money if you have fancy spending some time on it, let us know if you want details of thatExcel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?

All of you should appeal and then appeal again to POPLA. Costs them money but not binding on you (only on them!).

NONE OF YOU MUST EVEN THINK ABOUT PAYING THESE FAKE PCNS. NEVER PAY ONE EVEN IF YOU HAD NOT BOUGHT A TICKET!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
