Trying to get a deal wih Orange for a Galaxy SIII, they are saying the best they can do is £59.99 for the handset and then £36/m for 24 months, this includes unlimited mins text and 2GB data. Only a tiny bit cheaper if I get the minutes down. I can get way better deals with this if I sign up through 3, which is what I am going to do, but thought after being with Orange for 14 years they could offer a decent deal. Monthly bills were between £35 and £50, so not as if they arent getting good money from me. Grrrrrr, hehe!! :D

There is no reward for loyalty. Wait until you are in the last month of your contract and then request your PAC ... then you will be rewarded.

The contract is in its last month. Asked for the PAC code, they handed it over with no attempt to give me a better deal. Just back from Phones4U, they managed to get me an upgrade for £28.50/m. 600min's, Unlimited Texts and 1GB data. Happy with that.
  • I've had the same today - contract expires December. Wanted the motorola RAZRi - free from £20 on orange with phones4u/carphone warehouse/affordable mobiles.co.uk. Free for £21 on t-mobiles own website. My 'special' upgrade offer was free phone on £28/month with: 'Sorry, orange can only pricematch with our instore or online offers, no 3rd parties or other networks'. rang phones 4u and got the handest free on my current contract (£15/month).

I was amazed at how inflexible they were - the guy was itching to get me off the phone rather than retain me and sent the PAC before he'd even finished his spiel about not matching other networks!

That's what happened to me with Vodafone but the upgrades team have to little to offer. I waited a few days to see if retensions would call and, right enough, they did. It took until the 3rd time they called before I was happy with the deal they offered in the end.

If you want loyalty, get a dog!

If you want to get a good deal, shop around at renewal time.

Orange have no loyalty - and anyway, it's a 'new' company with a new brand. Play them at their own game - join EE as a new customer. Loyalty is for families, nobody else!
