Ask if they do cheap replacement gearboxes too.

Well the £49 admin charge puts me off; never heard of any car dealer adding that. Might indicate they are a bit 'sharp'.
Have you checked eBay ads; there are both dealers and private on there, and a lot of classifieds; and have you considered buying privately?

Ok one more......I know it's French!
    But maybe I'll be lucky

And it does come with 24 months warranty! (Is that a bad sign??)

24 months warranty on a 9 year old car...??

I think you will find thats wrong or the warranty covers ZILCH!!!

Everything can be down to wear and tear on a car that age.

The one that charges £49 admin fee, I wonder if he is selling them on behalf of the owner so avoiding some liability?

I did call about the Peugeot, and they said it is 24 months-and that it covers pretty much everything......hmmm

I will go and see it tomorrow

Ask them who the warranty is with.

Have a look at all the threads on here about warranty issues and then decide if it will 'cover pretty much everything'; I strongly suspect not.
Apart from that it's a Peugeot; excuse me while I'm sick.....
