What is the best iPhone insurance?

I just pay for my 'loaded' bank account which has phone insurance. Have made 1 claim through them and it was 'ok' but not the best as I received a refurbished iPhone that was not fit for purpose and an argument ensued as to why I thought it was unfit for purpose (it was an iPhone 3GS an the screen was not flush with the rest of the casing and would move when I typed)

I settled with them for a cash payment after this (I wasn't expecting nor wanting this - I just wanted a working iPhone!)

To be honest from what colleagues have experienced the 'best' insurance is from their network provider. But - for value for money the bank provided insurance (for me as I use the other benefits too) seems more than adequate.
  • You get what you pay for really.

Check the Ts & Cs carefully for little catches like only 1 claim per 12 month period or double excess on 2nd claim within 12 months or even a clause requiring you to pay all outstanding premiums if you cancel and have made a claim.

Cheaper policies will have more conditions and the claims process may be stricter, i.e. any inconsistencies in your claim submissions (phone interview and form), for acceptance.

I use Geek Squad - excellent but pricey and my friend has used Orange care which he found to be very good. Bank account insurance (which I've also used) is fine but I didn't like waiting 1 month to get a phone repaired.

Pretty much this. I have had to wait - and had to do a lot of chasing myself...
