T Mobile charging more than agreed per contract.
Options
This is the second time I am feeling like cheated. I am on Friends and Family 50% discount and have 2 lines.
First line:: It is £35 per month after discount it is £17.50
Second Line::Just renewed the second line last month and they agreed on £10 per month for 300 Min contract so after discount its £5.
I am suddenly getting a bill of £10 for second line which they say is because my friend who was working for T-Mobile has left and so no more "Friends and Family" discount for second line. On asking why take the offer only for 1 line and not the other and answer was
"Isnt it a good thing we left the offer on 1 line."
I just told them I am not accepting any change in payment term after the contract was agreed but it seem T Mobile is adamant that they are right to charge me what they are charging.
Please can someone tell me what is my rights. What would happen if I stop Direct Debit? This is getting frustrating.

It depends on the terms of the discount. If the terms are that the discount is valid only while the individual works for T-Mob, they are quite within their rights to withdraw it should the individual no longer work for them. Stopping the DD would only cause you problems and affect your credit rating.0

And I agree only if I know that. I dont know such a condition otherwise I would never ever go for this contract. And also why would they want to take the discount off from 1 line and not the other that sounds strange.0 -

I work for EE and I know they used to let you keep the F&F discount even when people left employment but they have changed it now. They can change the terms of the discount you are getting. The
price of the Service Plan is still the same...it's just you are no longer eligible for the discount.
It is up to your friend or family to keep you abreast of any major changes, I believe. It was a big thing recently at work that we were told this. I have no intention of leaving but know if I did, that my F&F people would know.0 -

Since T Mobile want to change the originally agreed terms should they not give a fair option to subscriber probably option to leave?
If I buy a £70 per month contract and ask them to reduce it to £35 after couple of months would they agree? of course not?
So why should I agree with them?0 -

Not saying you should agree but I imagine it'll be in the t&c's of friends and family somewhere. If so, not really a leg to stand on, I'm afraid.
At the end of the day, you agreed to a certain Service Plan. It just so happened that you were eligible for a discount on that when you took it out. The t&c's of that discount will probably state somewhere that they can remove it when said employee leaves. If this is so (whic I believe it is) then it is your fault for not being aware of that.
I understand it's frustrating but you should have been aware of this when you signed up. Or your friend should have made you aware. Like i have with my F&F recipients.
I am off with a poorly child so cannot get the t&c's up but I shall probably be able to find them somewhere.0 -

When I ordered the contract no such terms and condition were made aware to me. I would have certainly not went ahead otherwise.
I just feel T Mobile are playing with Terms and Condition to rip the customer off whenever they feel like.
And as well why did'nt they not take the discount off from my second contract what a ridiculous reply was that "Isn't that a good thing"0 -
F&F discount applies until minimum 12/18/24 month term completes if the employee leaves. At term completion the plan loses its 50% discount and cannot be applied even if you re-contract another contract term the qualifying employee has left the company.
Cannot remove the discount mid-contract minimum agreed term, same goes for employees leaving - discount ends when minimum term completes.SO... now England its the Scots turn to say dont leave the UK, stay in Europe with us in the UK, dont let the tories fool you like they did us with empty lies... You will be leaving the UK aswell as Europe0 -

I didn't know this. I stand corrected if true, and if so, I'd be arguing it further.
As I said, i know that we've recently been told you lose it when your person leaves. I have no intention if doing so though so didn't pay too much attention to it.
I didn't mean to be harsh either. I just think that this stuff will be in the t&c's and if as quoted above, the t&c's state that you should still get it then I'd be writing to complain if no one else will listen to you. You need to find said t&c's first though. Good luck.0 -
Was just thinking if you had only just renewed then that would be after the new rules came into play therefore when your person left, they've removed that one because the assume (!) that you know the rules.
If your £17.50 one has not yet finished it's minimum term then i imagine that as soon as it does, the discount will be removed.
It brings to mind the another corporate discount scheme that we do. People who are eligible often complain that they are not told about it at the point of upgrade/connection etc. Again, it is up to their employers to tell them about it.
We often get discounts through work but they are sent to us via work - not the companies that give the discounts IYSWIM?0 -
