lolly - I am perfectly aware my GD has ADHD - the term 'is' tho is commonly used that she 'is ADHD/possibly Aspergers' in her psych reports and it just came out that way! its been going on so long without any further testing that I tend to think 'is ADHD'. Thank you for bringing it to my attention - I do see her as a child with ADHD honestly!!!!!!!!!! and a rather special and unique child!

Thats ok Lolly - you were right to pull me up on it.
  • Oh crickey, now i am giggling, i probably shouldn't be but considering how MSE usually is all defensive and uptight, this thread has had two apologies on two pages, unheard of.

I'm off to bed, thanks for everyone's help and for my amusement, cheered me up and restored some of me faith in the MSE community.

Do you have a Dunelm Mill near you this terry 1 is only £4.89 http://www.dunelm-mill.com/shop/terry-waterproof-mattress-protector-263701 I think this is the 1 we have & it's fine but it's been a few years since we bought it.
Oh it's for dd's bed not mine!! But we do have a mattress protector, just easier to keep fresher than the mattress.
    Booo!!!
  • ooo good idea violetta, i'll check that out. thanks.

lmao - and I am wondering whether I should take myself off to bed before I manage to upset more people!
nawww - I aint tired and my mind is as active as a hamster on a wheel - so I shall take myself off down the 'Arms' and perhaps then on Youtube and listen to some nice relaxing 'Heavy Metal'!

We have pull-ups for my little boy (5) for when he is over tired, when we have sleep overs or for when he is in our bed.

Perhaps is that a solution? Fortunately he is still at the age that pull-ups are a matter of course for him and nothing more!

He has an accident once in a blue moon but I like to be prepared for that as I too hate stained mattresses!

Please also bear in mind that other people don't necessarily know that, until of course you bring it to their attention.
  • My little one is 5 and she has not had a waterproof mattress cover since about 6 months after she was night trained (since 3.5yrs??).

Once their brains produce the appropriate 'don't wee when you are asleep ' chemical, there is no real need for a waterproof protector. Vomit does not soak though mattresses as quickly as pure liquid!

So do away with the waterproof!

Have to disagree with you on that one LOL, it really does depend on whats coming up. As I said earlier, DS2 can soak right through the quilted protector to the waterproof - if he didn't have that the mattress would be soggy. Mind you I'd rather a stained mattress than then DS1's party trick of hurling from the top of the ladder
