Sky engineer no show

Hi guys
I need some advice regarding an engineer no show. I ordered Sky on Sunday just gone (after been away from them for 18 months or so). I managed to get half price for 6 months on their basic package. Was then put through to the installation company and was told I would have to wait 7 weeks for installation. Rang Sky back on Monday and was told that today (28th) it would be installed between 12-5. Anyway, I have taken a day off work, and stayed in all day and nobody has turned up. I also never received the phone call that you are supposed to receive the night before. So anyway, I rang Sky a few hours ago and explained the situation to them, they tried to ring the engineer, their manager and the call centre but got no answer from either. I then asked what Sky are going to do about it considering I have already lost a days pay and looking like I will be losing another if and when they turn up. All as they have offered me is £10 credit?
Is this fair?
The guy on the other end of the phone said he can't do anything as it has nothing to do with Sky as the engineer didn't turn up? Surely it has everything to do with them, as the engineers are doing their installations?
Please help, I am going to write an email of complaint but just need some advice.
Many thanks
Martyn

How have you "lost" a days pay? You must surely have taken a paid day off to have Sky installed.0 -
Clearly the installer had an issue that delayed him, it happens.
For future reference the account holder does not need to be present during install, you can leave it to a member of your domestic staff.0
