    When i had my Black Cab haven't a clue what the mileage was but double shifted we averaged between 300 and 400 miles a day.

    They are the hardiest of beasts on the road. Wonderful vehicles. I see the firm that makes them is in trouble though - called in the administrators.

    For so many years they had no competition but people carriers are so much more comfortable now, although i doubt they have the same staying power

    Most was 106K on a 9 year old 1 litre poverty spec Micra. A lot of traveling in such a small car.

    1985 Volvo 740 with 347,000 on the clock when I bought it at auction. Kept it three years and sold it for the same price I paid. Then bought a 1988 Granada 2.9 Ghia auto with about 160,000 on the clock.

    My Clio has 148,000 miles on it, had it since about 38,000 miles. Serviced it infrequently, ignored the engine warning light for 100,000 miles, generally abuse it but it refuses to fail an MOT.

    Rover 800 Diesel. 235,000 when i bought it.. Only used it for weekends and towing the caravan so not a huge mileage on top.

    4 years later i sold it.. And it was still taxed 3 or 4 years later.
