Hi guys
need to get the missus a new phone for Xmas. She is on Tesco but contract has has run out.
Looking at Tesco again both the Nokia Lumia 800 & Galaxy Ace are free with a generous amount of call, texts & web for £12.50 each
So which one do i go for ??
or any alternatives for around £10-£12 a month on o2 network
Thanks

Let me think, the Nokia is a Windows phone, and the Samsung is an Android phone.
No contest then. That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Lumia 800, the Galaxy Ace is a pretty budget offering.0

Lumia all the way if they're the same price. Whatever your thoughts on android v windows phone, at the same price point the lumia is sooo much better than the galaxy which is very much a budget phone.0

My partner's daughter has just got a Nokia Lumia 610 on a TalkMobile contract. Previously, she had been using an old Android (Samsung Apollo) of mine.
Never once went over her 500mb monthly data allowance on the Android - in fact barely used it.
Got the Windows Nokia on November 15th, switched it on November 18th and, today, was notified that her limit of £50 had been exceeded as she had used 900mb data (her contract was 250mb).
Looked on the web and "Phantom Data" has been levelled at both Windows 7 and 8 handsets.
She swears that she has done nothing different, uses wi-fi at home, but for what it is worth, that's our experience over 10 days.
As far as the handsets go, I like the Nokias, but wouldn't like the bills so far.
Edit:- And there are no Windows apps to check your data usage either.0 -
My son has a galaxy ace and I have a lumia 800. The galaxy ace is very very budget and tbh most of the apps my son wants aren't supported, phones sluggish and screen is dreadful.Baby Numner 4 due 7th May 2016

A friend of mine had a Galaxy Ace and sold it after a few months simply because it had insufficient memory for the very modest number of apps he tried to run on it.
The Nokia may be an old model but I would go for it any day rather than the Ace0
