New product in Tesco's and under their own name(selling at £1.75 at present)Parchment lined foil. 7.5m length 30cm wide. It says bake or roast using baking paper side to prevent food sticking whilst cooking. The aluminium side promotes even cooking, retains heat, mosture and helps prevent burning.

Hmmmm I hope that isn't a direct replacement, it costs a lot more!
Please be patient with any mis-spellings and typos I am officially useless with a touchscreen keyboard!!!

They are always changing basic items. Someone mentioned greeseproof paper, I did not look today but I think Tesco had some of that not so long ago, as suggested Wilkinsons seem to be pretty good at anything to do with baking or freezing.

I bought a reusable sheet called 'cookasheet', it's 330mm x400mm, just wipe it or wash it after use, it's brilliant. I cut it to fit the tins that I use most. Got it from a local hardware shop, it didn't cost much or I wouldn't have bought it! Lakeland do something similar.

You know Hard Pressed...I think I have one of those somewhere...but where. Think I purchased it at Pound Stretcher.

I think they call it baking paper now rather than baking parchment - and I've got it from most of the main supermarkets. But I agree with previous posters, Wilkinson is quite good for baking products http://www.wilkinsonplus.com/food-wrapping/wilko-baking-parchment-non-stick-375mm-wide-5m/invt/0171408/?htxt=mTgi%2F6AMObK7WJ7SbylYNlYs8nVBxTxkAuYLQgUCFdU06kLUVvZUJljZEY9uvFACsSIK5fhTULAa%0A2Py9VXUwAQ%3D%3D
  • You can buy baking paper from Nisbetts http://www.nisbets.co.uk/Vogue-Baking-Parchment/DM177/ProductDetail.raction
It is 50 metres and works out cheaper than most of the supermarkets, it is very good quality.

In January or February they have for the past few years, had a free postage month, so I usually buy a roll each of cling, foil and parchment and they will last me the whole year.
  • Try Robert Dyas if you have one nearby.

The baking parchment is 99p for 5m or greaseproof paper is 99p for 10m according to their website. It might be different in the shop.

If you can get it from a catering supplier on a big roll it's worth every penny. It's much much better than the supermarket stuff!

Anyone who's got an account with Bookers, or suchlike will find they have it too!

Our village newsagent sells it-you have to search for it on the shelf as it's usually mixed up with things like cake candles, brown paper, bun cases etc!
