Hi
I'm on a rolling contract with tesco which i'm happy with, £10 a month 500 mins, unlimited texts, 500g data.
I took out a 24 month contract to get a new phone, to get a new samsung galaxy lite, this runs out in oct.
but the phone is currently playing up, i've been into tesco and they said i can pay to get out of my contract £90, and i can take a new one out for the samsung galaxy ll but for £20 a month.
Now i like this phone, for me it would be much bigger and better than the lite that i have.
But i wondered if i could just go out and buy this phone for a reasonable price, does anyone have any ideas as to where i could go to get a good deal to buy one of these.
thanks

Firstly, it sounds like you are on a contract with a minimum term rather than a rolling contract.
£10 per month is very expensive for the mins, texts and data you are getting, but part of the money is going to pay for your existing phone. £24*10=£240 for your two year contract. Was your old phone really worth that much?
£20 per month for two years comes to £480, but you can buy a Samsung Galaxy 2 for as little as £148. http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/samsung-galaxy-tab-2-7-0-8gb-wifi-147-117-after-samsung-cashback-free-8gb-msd-card-1373414
So why would you want to pay an extra £332?
Buy the phone you want, unlock the sim if necessary, and continue to use your existing contract until it expires. Then go PAYG or sim only and pay a few pounds per month (depending on your exact usage requirements).0 -
I actually have a samsung galaxy tab 2, which i do think is a little too big for a phone. Me has memories of joey boswell...lol
This is the phone i was on about i wanted.

the samsung galaxy s2
I thought that the £10 a month wasn't too bad for what i was getting.
Can you point me out to a better deal. Thanks.0 -
Well if you really do use around 500 minutes per month (which is a lot of minutes!), then your £10 isn't unreasonable, but many people don't use anything like their allowance of minutes.
If you actually use much less than 500 minutes, then cheaper alternatives are:
Three 200 minutes, 5,000 texts and 500mb £6.90 per month (12 month contract)
Virgin 150 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb data (1 month contract) £7 per month (or even cheaper if you have other Virgin products).0
