I have only ever used the paypal address as that is where I need seller protection.

I understand and have been corrected by regulars that the ebay and paypal address cannot differ, but I am still getting addresses that do not match so either my ebay is broken or this is yet *another* ebay glitch.

Just to check, that's the one you see in the email confirming payment, right?
That's the one I use anyway....

As a buyer I expect sellers to send to my paypal address. When I pay I have the option to choose which address I want an item sent to - home, work, parents, hotel in the middle of nowhere, friend as a present... I see this as the point of paypall asking where it should be posted. A couple of times sellers have sent to my ebay address when I wanted it elsewhere and it is a pain - it may be covered by seller's protection but is certainly bad communication by not lpaying attention to what the buyer requests.

I sold on Ebay - so i send where Ebay tell me too.

I have never used the paypal to address the parcel. I like everything in one place - and sort everything via myebay. Then i can mark as dispatched or add tracking there aswell.

If ebay and paypal can't agree where it should go - or add a message to my ebay pointing people to the correct address - thats not my problem.

If the buyer used the 'add a note feature' to tell the seller - then thats different. So like you said - bad communication - BUT ON THE BUYERS SIDE!!

I have never lost a case sending to the ebay address.

But as a seller you don't get to leave communication stars or poor feedback for the buyer. It has already been pointed out that the option to change address is being offered by ebay, not paypal as I said, which is fine by me - I expect the onus to be on sellers to work out how the system is working this month. However, if at any point in the transaction the computer asks me where I would like something sent I will be miffed if it goes somewhere else.

When you purchase something, you put your paypal password on, you choose the address, add a note then confirm. Are people saying they completely ignore this address?

When I was at university and only ever used the address here depending on whether I was home or at university - with eBay keeping my home, address and would have been livid if people had ignored the address shown in the email - the one chance you get to change it when checking out.

The paypal address is the address of the person paying the money. I check that both the ebay and PP asddress match, then send it off to the paypal address. If not, i write to them and ask why they have two different addressess. And I send it recorded for an extra £0.95 if I have a doubt! :D

You have too much time on your hands. :D

And the last time i emailed someone to confirm their address - i got an abusive email back saying "just send the effin thing". I was also marked down for dispatch - as i was waiting for their email back.

And surely recorded makes no difference if you post to the wrong address?
