Yeyyyyy, my mum got me an advent calender- of the picture variety.
Challenge for today is not to succumb to vending machine chocolate at work.
Also the colleagues/friends from work are planning a night out tonight but only going to spend what left over in my purse from my function/xmas party last night. Is going to be a rather sober night!! Does that count as a NSD as my budget is still untouched?
My money pot is only dinky and nearly full so im going to open it at the end of this month to pay off whats left of my debt as ive moved to my DFD to end of Dec so I can start 2013 debt free. Then find another one and use the little one for the £2 challenge and a bigger one for other change.
Still have my last £100 of non budgeted money to transfer into my overdraft to leave me with my £100 for DDD.1% at a time challenge member #127
MWF: as@ Oct13 £45,917, now £43,024.560 -
Abundant- good luck with the move and the promotion
I think you have made some amazing steps to help you become debt free, house sharing etc, i'm sure you'll see that debt reduce before you know it. Potatoes, onions and carrot sounds like the perfect start to pasties! Maybe get some reduced veg (swede/turnip) and frozen peas, and make your own pasties?

Good Morning DDD Contenders! What a gloriously chilly winters day it is. I am sat on my bedroom floor ( I just cleaned up), tea by my feet, tartan pj's still on and classic FM on the radio. I had a wee sleep in cause I was out last night with a girlfriend... I hadn't bee out properly with her since we met but we always knew we got along so made a point to actually meet. She has a mortgage by the way and £15,000 in her savings and is putting away £400 a month in said savings.... no CC debt, no overdraft and no loans.....**groan**.... however she is a little inspiration to me now....
I shall push and push till this is GONE! I am planning food as we speak but wanted to pop in and say hello.. I am reading and watching as newbies grasp the challenge, bid a fond hello to "lurkers" and will remember to be nice when it comes to Januaries challenge...
I shall be ordering my little savngs pot today.. I specifically want one that won't open... its so childish but I love the concept..
Abundant yes good luck with that move. I rent a room, first time as a "lodger" and not a tenant. Weird having my life in one room WITH my cat but needs must. I just hope she doesn't chuck me out prior to the end of 2013...:).. And the promo is such a good idea. You are in a very positive place and things will work out for you - there is a reason for everything...
To the rest of you sorting out your food cupboards - you might find this becomes the main focus of your existence..:rotfl:
Advent calendar say 1 eaten. Thank you to a boy at work who got me one... he said the look on my face when he handed it to me was priceless...#womanwhonevergotoneasachild..
Right I need to go put more clothes on cause even in someone else's house I won't put the heating on...

Had a very productive morning! Been shopping and then cooking.
I made pasta sauce which we all had for lunch (with pasta) and there is a portion left for the freezer. Made veg soup for tea and should get at least 2 lunches out of that and also a veggie chilli but using quorn pieces instead of mince as that is what I had in. This will be enough for us all to have twice I reckon.
Shopping was tough. I was trying to buy shop own brands and not over do it but still spent 49.50 in morrisons and 5.50 in the 'bread shop'. Still that was within my 60 budget and it did include my Xmas biscuits for £3. Also collecting vouchers so needed to spend 40 and i tend to round up as i add up going round. My Xmas food is to come from my grocery budget as we are not entertaining and I already have some choc fingers, heros and cheeslets stashed away :T will only need stuff for meals now.
As well as all that I made choc buns and smash scones this morning too. I love batch cookingGoing to draw up a meal plan later. Now to get ready for swimming.

Kat what exactly did you live on for £40? I'm single and I really struggle with my £100 4 weekly budget and regularly go over it (includes alcohol for indoors as well)
Curious as I put £100 in last friday and I'm ashamed to say I only have £23.15 to last me another 3 weeks!!!
And I spent £30 out of love to shop vouchers to get 6x bottles of wine so that isn't even included in the budget
Any help greatly appreciated!
I do know I buy a lot of muller light yogurts as I have one every day, seafood sticks, slimming world cereal bars and fruit (I snack on it all the time)Started again 25th December 2017

Arggggh - my first hurdle...
I was going to do my 7 in a row challenge, right... but just found 2 x £6 off when you spend £30 vouchers!!! 1 for this week (ends today) and 1 for next week.. I pledged £20 per week for this challenge. Do I...
a) Ignore the vouchers - use up my food cupboard and restock at a later date keeping within the allotted budget.
b) Buy £30 of food (lots of my essentials on offer at the moment) this week and next week (= £60) and equate that to 3 weeks budgeting, but effectively only spending £48. I could then use up my food cupboard before starting on the new food.
Heeeeeeeeeeelp

Afternoon all... more from NSK at work later.. right now its snooze time. I made some right treats from my leftovers though...fridge is nearly completely bare. Love that feeling..
Onwards and Upwards...( first NSD for me )..“Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. First December spend day out of the way but that's the rest of my christmas shopping done with.
I now have 3 NSDs in a row so I'm hoping I've got everything I need in for the next 3 days.
Got myself 2 non opening money tins from the 99p shop - how optimistic am I!!!!! Now I'm wondering whether I will be brave and put in the money I'll be earning doing extra work tomorrow or do I keep that money somewhere else just in case?????
Abundant1972 - If you can manage to stick to the minimum amount you need to spend to use the vouchers and you won't need to buy things later in the month I'd use them otherwise ignore them as although you feel like you'd be saving money - in the long term you'd probably end up spending more.
Off to put some tesco value pizza in the oven for tea - kids wanted takeout pizza but its not in the budget!!! :cool:StartingToGetOutofDebt
