gutted

i don't know if this post is allowed but , my cat has died, she has been fine all day then suddenly about 6pm this evening she was walking funny and she just went down hill she was lay in her cat box because we were going to take her to the emergency vet and she has stopped breathing ...im really gutted she was only 4 and a half .. she caught a mouse yesterday and we wonder if she ingested some poison or something

    First Let me offer my sincere condolences. I am dreading the day when i will have to say Goodbye to Mr hop.
    It doesn't sound like poison as it it too quick, so could be a congenital problem. Maybe ring the vet tomorrow and ask. Sorry again for your loss.

    How awful for you robpw. It does sound to me like she got something from the mouse. My dog once caught a rat and was horribly sick for a good while and the vet said there was a chance the rat had been poisoned and the dog took some poison himself from the rat's blood.

    Poison is very fast acting.
