Hi Guys,
To cut the story short, the sky line rental price increase should've enabled me to cancel my contract at no cost with them. Despite asking they couldn't identify how this would work and I couldn't find where I had read it. So they refused. Having now found it I am out of the 3 week notice period. I was quite happy to stay with them until I had problems with them.
I'm moving house on friday. Organised the transfer well in advance and was told even if the line got cancelled at my future house, it wouldn't matter. So last week I get a text asking me to call them as there is a problem. Surprise surprise the line was cancelled which fudged the order. Now I have to wait 4 weeks instead of 3 days without broadband. So I said i'm not having that and don't want to renew in the new house.
They say I may be liable to charges but surely now I have proof of the request to cancel which should have been recorded, I shouldn't be liable...
Any advice on what to do? I'd be happy to stay but 4 weeks is taking the mick. I rely on broadband heavily to get research done.
Thanks guys

4 weeks sounds about right for BT to get the work done. You won't get it done quicker with another ISP as they all rely on BT to do the work.
If you want to save on line rental with Sky you can opt to pay 12 months up front which is £119.40.
I guess you best bet to get the service up and running is to keep chasing Sky.That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
surely they should not charge me for those 4 weeks then?0

Absolutely, mind you in my experience you'll need to have a friendly chat with one of their agents to sort out a refund on your account. Keep a note of the relevant dates.
