Puddle splashing cars!

Options
So today I decided to take a walk and managed to find myself covered in muddly puddle water from a passing car that went past and pulled in to a driveway. I went up to to driver and showed them the mud on my coat, boots and trousers, to get a shrug and be told "what do you want me to do about it?" I replied, well an apology would have been nice or some tissue to clean myself off? The lady replied "you should of moved out of the way"

I'm not sure where to, maybe I should of jumped over the nearest wall or hedge to escape the water from the clearly avoidable puddle that the driver claimed she didn't see.

Please people when you driving around, don't splash the innocent public like me. :(

I doubt the car did it on purpose. If you walk then you need to be a bit canny to avoid this happening

If this is serious then you'd better not go out until the weather improves! It's not nice but usually unavoidable.

It is serious! I don't expect to go out and come home drenched in mud. Sorry. Does it rain mud where you are then?

It was completely avoidable on a wide country lane with no other traffic and to have her laughing at me when I showed her the state I was in says to me she did it on purpose.

People do get prosecuted for it, it is not far different from common assault. The OP is more tolerant than I, as the owner ..... well you can guess the rest :o

Not if they pull into the drive next door............

I seem to think someone was done for 'due care and attention'

Like most people this has happened from time to time, I'm annoyed but most drivers try to slow down or avoid the puddle and it's not their fault.

This once happened to me. I had parked up and was walking down to work. I was on the middle of the pavement and a car full of young lads deliberately drove into the gutter where there was a big puddle
