If you use your mobile and drive at the same time one day you may get a fine, you may get a ban, you may have a crash and........you may kill someone.

Could you live with yourself if this happens?

If you are caught using a mobile phone whilst driving, it should be an instant ban. No 'ifs' no 'buts', a ban, an a massive fine. It may make a few think twice about the dangers of mobile phones whilst driving.

Drove over 700 miles this weekend, the amount of people I saw using a mobile outnumbered the cretins hogging the middle lane.

There is no deterrent.

Is this your new craic? You seem to have started posting stories of tragedies.

Although obviously a terrible incident i'm not sure this is the best place to put these sort of things. I would suggest maybe the discussion part of the board will be best for these tragedies.

Also ironically if she had texted while driving this incident wouldn't have happened. It seems like she pulled in to send the text and the accident happened when she pulled out of the lay-by without looking.

The number of times I see police officers operating their personal radio, whilst driving is incredible.

Then again, last Friday the First manchester bus I was travelling on was being driven by a driver who spent most of the journey with a mug of coffee in one hand.

Working in a call centre its amazing the amount of people that after being on the phone with them for a few minutes will proclaim they are just in the middle of driving and will call back. I really feel these people should not answer the phone in the first place.
