Agreed marmite... this thread has really helped me to rein in my spending and, as a reward, I'm nearly DF:j:j... although it might take another month or so judging by the amount I've spent so far this month:o:o
I'm happy to continue doing the updates and if they help give someone else some encouragement then that's a bonus:)The time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time

Freeby :A have a rest over Christmas, I know I'm a newbie here, but I'm sure we will survive without a daily update.
I've learnt this month I don't need to buy chocolate everyday, that a bit of planning can save alot of dosh and I can look forward to the New Year with a bit more hope than I had when I joined.
its a bit early , but we'll all be busy over Christmas so I just wanted to say its good to know "we're all in this together" to quote a certain politician, and here we really are, for whatever reason, we are trying to spend less, make what we have go further and for longer. Its a refreshing change from all those 'buy me now' adverts (no offence intended if you are an advertiser).
_party_So Merry Christmas everyone, I hope you all find something to enjoy and some good news about whatever it is you hope for. :santa2::xmassmile
p.s. NSD number 7 last Monday ...yeah only one to go :TDebt -it's a fight that I'm winning, dealing with debt one day at a time.
Estimated DFD August 2018 - 2031 - now 2027 :T

Off the rails somewhat over here, for a variety of reasons, but finally got NSD6.
Really relying on the Christmas break to get some decent NSDs under my belt; I'm staying with in-laws and apart from one planned spend there shouldn't be any real reason to buy anything for a few days.
I'm too new to really have an opinion on the updates (but I'm going to share one anyway); I do read the whole thing just to get a sense of where everyone else is in comparison to me, which spurs me on, but I don't need personalised comments; just checking the front page would do the same job.MFW diary here. 1 Feb 2017 $229,371 - MFD Feb 2043  aiming for May 2028
14 August 2017 - Refinanced: $220,000
January 2019 $211,580 Current MFD 31 June 20360 -
