Hi everyone, seems like we are all keeping motivated,
Sorry about the TD Rising, it's not easy to get stuff dry indoors when you can't have windows open etc. I hang mine on hangers from door frames but it looks messy.

Turns out unexpectedly yesterday was a

Ouch! That sounds painful :( - hope it provides some help afterwards to make it worthwhile.

  • Not an NSD today as i decided to pay off my credit card bill in full. Hopefully the rest of the week will be, aside from Sunday which is my works do. Gonna wear my 50's style dress - it's not partywear per se but it's more a very small gathering and a meal than a party. Plus i haven't had a chance to wear it yet!

    NSD 6 here today.

Rising, I'm sorry about your TD but I have to smile when I remember my favourite Aunt complaining about those same problems. It turned out that she didn't know that there was a filter in the door and that she had to empty it. Next time she visited she brought a solid mass shaped like a wheel that she had removed from the filter. It is one of a number of fond memories of her.

    Hotwater bottle hugs for everyone.

And through the door comes Number 4!!!!

Chucked some more alcohol over the Christmas cake today. And made 3 ramekin dishes full of brandy butter which are now in the freezer. The supermarket delivery has been booked for payday (Friday before Christmas) and I have meal plans done for every day up till then. All I need to do now is make sure basic stuff like milk & veg is kept topped up, and sort out a trip to the greengrocer on that Friday.

I've done with panicking around like a headless chicken at the last minute. It doesn't achieve anything and just ruins the enjoyment of the season. I always book a week annual leave in early December - used to do this to make sure i was off work for school Christmas productions. Now DD is grown up and DS's school doesn't do Christmas shows, I still have that week off to put up decorations, finish prezzy shopping and wrapping and get ahead with whatever food prep I can do. This year I am on night shift 24th so Christmas Day for me will start about 1230 ish after a few hours sleep. We will open our prezzies after a lunch of scrambled egg and smoked salmon, and probably have a buffet meal in the evening. Boxing Day will be the big meal day, roast beef etc with Christmas pud and cream and brandy butter.

I remember years ago (first marriage) when I would buy loads of sweets, biccies, nuts, bottles of every type of alcohol etc etc. What a waste of time and money! Christmas has become simpler, less stressful - and is paid for in full, no credit card bills scaring the living daylights out of us in January. Being in debt has some advantages, and even when we are debt free (less than 2 years to go) I will still chuck some money extra at the mortgage each month to get that down.

And the NSD habit will never die!
