Wireless Card Issue

Hello,

A few months ago I bought a Tenda wireless card for my pc. In the last few weeks I started to get drop outs on the network. My laptop and tablet connected to the router okay so I took it there was an issue with the pc.

A few days ago the drop out got worse - Under the impression it would sort the problem, I reinstalled Windows 7 but to no avail. Anyway, I moved the aerial on the back of the card and shortly afterwards the connection was up and solid.

This morning I'm seeing the same issue again, so I moved the aerial and all seems okay again.

Has anyone experienced this issue and is there anything I can do with the card / its aerial to sort this issue out please?

Put the aerial on an extender if possible? Your PC is a big metal box which damps the signal.

Just got home and switched pc on and 100% signal on the card.

I'll have to look into the extender macman mentioned.

Back to square one!

I removed wireless card and reinstalled it with drivers afresh - changed channel on router but to no avail.

So, I've stuck the usb adapter back in the machine. Its ironic, I'd bought the card in as it was supposed to be more stable than the usb!

I think the card is at fault but it'd cost more in fuel to take it back to the shop plus I cannnot locate the receipt!
