Visiting from Australia, need 1 month iphone 5 simm
Options
Hi,
We're visiting the UK over Christmas for a couple of weeks and I need a temporary nano simm for my (unlocked) iphone5. Can anyone suggest a good deal, data is my main priority, the Orange 20.50 deal looked OK but when I tried to order it wanted 3 years worth of UK addresses and employment refs, I have a job but 11,000 miles away, I just want to pay for a simm!
Ideally about 500Mb data and 150mins+ of talk time, any suggestions would be great.
Thanks heaps!

I'd recommend getting a 3 microsim. For £15 you get 300 mins, 5000 texts and unlimited data.
Just use scissors to cut the sim to size. It only took me about 2 mins to chop a normal size pay as you go sim down to nano size when I needed a temp sim after my phone was stolen and the replacement sim lagged behind the replacement phone.
The fact that a nano sim is thinner than other sims made no difference. It went in easy and came out with no probs.0 -

They do micro SIM "pop outs" and you can cut the SIM to a nano SIM.
http://giffgaff.com/goodybags/10pound-goodybag might be what you want.
The one non obvious thing is that you need to put credit on your Giffgaff account then buy the goodybag, just crediting the account doesn't buy the goodybag.0 -

Or you can add the goodybag to your basket and then checkout without adding credit and all that business!:j0 -
Giffgaff is probably your best bet as others have said. The easiest network to get a nano-SIM for is O2; they give them out for free in their shops, and the pack includes a micro-SIM and mini-SIM adapter too.0

If you're still busy looking for data deals you might check Three's All You Can Eat data on the iPhone 5?

I'd look at either GiffGaff or Ovivo
https://www.giffgaff.com
https://www.ovivomobile.com
Depending on how many mins, text & data you'll need.
You may need to cut the sim down to a nano sim, but there are lots of sites on the net telling you how to do that or buy a sim cutter.0 -
I was pretty impressed with the payg nano sim service from carphone warehouse http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/price-plans/sim-only/pay-as-you-go - they charge £10 for the sims BUT this inludes a "free" £10 topup so the sim and delivery (mine came in about 2 days via yodel's courier service) are essentially free.
I mainly used them as I needed a "nano" payg sim and there was nowhere on orange's own website to actually order a nano sim!0
