In reality very little, it will still be paid but from a different pot and or lost in change management. Arms and legs."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... Being uneducated, you have no fear of the future.".....

One of the biggest drains is housing benefit, £26 Billion a year.
Not too mention the immorality of a lot of that money going into the pockets of the well off already including dodgy MP's.
No matter how much the new breed of BTL landlords protest about "how they are a putting a roof over the heads of the needy" snigger!, not one house will spontaniously explode should landlords get less of that £26 Billion pot.
It should be cut by at least £10 Billion IMO.0 -

House prices and rents as the high benefit payments are what is holding them up for now.The next domino to fall will be the housing market. Most mortgages are linked to interest rates. As interest rates shoot upwards, millions of people will be pushed “underwater” by a combination of falling housing values and rising mortgage payments.0 -
Would anybody rather pay £10bn more in tax in order to keep welfare where it is ?No-one would remember the Good Samaritan if he'd only had good intentions. He had money as well.
The problem with socialism is that eventually you run out of other people's money.

Cut overseas aid an spending on wars first,. Then really tackle tax avoidance both corporate and personal. Then I would be more sympathetic to random welfare cuts, that often affect those least able to cope, not the targets."If you act like an illiterate man, your learning will never stop... We went and invaded two countries and your suggestion is abandon them to anarchy and civil war. We spend 0.7% of our budget on foreign aid which among other things saves thousands of lives. But, of course you're right, cutting these so that the unemployed can have an extra few pennies each week is helping those least able to cope. :rotfl:
There's been nothing 'random' about welfare cuts so far and the idea that there isn't massive abuse and waste within the welfare system is naive at best.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -

Almost all of the LL's we are dealing with have now stopped accepting HB. To be frank most have the view a non HB tenant tends to be more responsible, less liable to default and often pays more.
I was dealing with a chap today that is buying his 100th property. If I'm honest I find this a bit of a diik measuring endeavour my such people who's greed and need for affirmation knows no limits.0 -

And nearly a million people die of hunger every month; but god forbid our government spend less than 1% of its budget doing something about that (~£200 per person). After all it took us all so much hard work and dedication to be born in an incredibly wealthy country didn't it; it's a Brits basic fundamental right to live well even if we never work.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature.
