Thats what I thought, but when i go to online checkout it states:

"The HD Pack upgrades all Sky+ boxes in your order to Sky+HD boxes"

Be pointless going multi-room if the 2nd box cant record because i rarely if ever watch "live" tv these days, just stick with my magic eye piping the planner upstairs.

How is it not relevant when it relates to an order I almost placed? They way its worded made me think that both boxes would have recording facilities even though I'd read elsewhere that the multiroom box does not. That's why I asked the question on here.

Am juggling between boxes on the website and a cheaper way seems to be to replace my old white sky + box with a sky+hd for free, then take a 2tb box at £49 for my multi-room..........do not see point of multi-room unless you can record on both boxes

Finally went for HD/Multiroom with the 2tb at £49.

Also my mother in law had hers installed on thurs and neither box was connected to her phone line, when i asked her about this she said they werent bothered about the interactive services and the engineer hadnt bothered connecting them up.....surely she'll have bother with her multiroom subscription because of this??

Yes she will do. It's one of the stipulations of a multiroom sub that you must have both boxes connected to the same telephone line.
