XFactor Ticket Win...Advice needed please

I have also had a call today to tell me I have won 2 tickets to the X Factor Final, from this thread
https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4201861
There is now no hotel offered in the package, I'm wondering if when they realised that central Manchester hotels were tripling/quadrupling their prices for the Final night, they changed it as they would have needed to book 25 rooms.....at £2-300 a night )
I did manage to find a room at the airport hotel for £43. will just need to hop on a train to Manchester Central.
I haven't been comping long so unsure exactly what companies can/can't do about changing prizes.
My question is this...Is it worth writing a polite letter to Superdrug asking if they would consider re-imbursing me
:o:o
I'm not too worried about paying if it's not worth asking Superdrug, as I'm chuffed and very grateful to win the tickets , just wondered if it's worth a cheeky letter
:p:p
Hope someone with experience can offer advice please?

Have I understood correctly? The original prize as advertised included accommodation but now you've won, you've just been offered tickets to the show? You could try your cheeky letter, if you don't ask , you don't get but I found this on a compers website...
What if my prize isn’t what was advertised?
Have you got a copy of the competition details, or a link? If the link has gone you could try googling the details to see if Google has a cached version of the site. Take a screen grab so you have all the information. Email the promoter with a link to the original prize details and politely explain that what you’ve received isn’t what was originally specified. Only if you don’t receive a reply via email, should you consider venting on their Facebook page or on Twitter. it’s an easy option to take your gripe straight to public forums, but most companies are friendly and will be happy to help, particularly if it’s a problem that can be settled privately! Be careful with venting on Facebook, be too aggressive and it may work to your disadvantage. If you still have no joy, you can take your complaint to the IPM or ASA.

Here's a copy of the actual competition TC from their website. It clearly says accommodation is included I would not do a cheeky letter I would personally call them up and want them to sort out accommodation as promised, I wouldn't be staying in a budget airport hotel. Just my thoughts xx

Yep I won this also and no mention of Accommodation with me either.
Will call tomorrow thanksFingers Crossed for the big one in 20150 -
The Travelodges are reasonable if the hotel isn't covered. The Manchester Central Arena is £40 and its less than 10 mins drive away from the venue.0

This one isn't like the Boots fiasco which was most likely a genuine mistake.
This competition has quite clearly been advertised with accommodation as part of the prize for it's duration.
I personally do not think they have a leg to stand on.0 -
I also got a call yesterday to let me know I'd won the tickets. I asked about the hotel but was told no accommodation was included, so I told the lady to just redraw my prize. Wish I'd read this first now!!
Good luck in pursuing it though, hope you get your hotelA MASSIVE thank you to everyone who posts comps :beer:0 -
I have spoken to Pete at the Unilever Careline ( the number given in the winning email). He has taken all my details and is passing on to the 'relevant person' who will get back to me.......Do the right thing.....Because its the right thing to do0
