Hell - you cn get a Samsung Tab2 10.1 for £180 after cashcack (from Carephone warehouse) which IMO is a better option that the Fire HD, though not as capable as the Nexus.0

- the same cable on the charger does the same job

My wife has Kindle fire HD & i have a Nexus 7 & I have to fight to get the Nexus of her.We both prefer the Nexus0

I was going to get my son a kindle fire hd for Christmas as the I pad mini is so expensive
It having just read your comments I'm thinking the nexus?
He would mostly be web browsing, school web site etc, and free games0
