Hi

Does anyone know anything much about T-mobile U-fix (you can fix your monthly bill so you dont go over)? Can existing customers change to it? Is it a good deal?

I am a current customer on an off-peak price plan.

Thanks

It's the same as the old mix-it tariffs they used to do, but relaunched under a different name, so after you have used all your minutes up, you have to buy vouchers to carry on making calls
  • Yeah, was just wondering if it was worth moving - my bills are a bit higher than I would like at the moment.

Christine (if you don't mind me calling you by the name on your sig... either that or pinkfluffy... hehe),

what tariff are you on... ?
and how much are your bills approx. a month...?
also, how far are you into your contract?

I can have a chat with a few people I know at t-mobile to see what they suggest and use my own experience of being on t-mobile for 3 years to help you and balance out the pros and cons for you!

    HTH.

    Regards,

    FF.

  • Hi Fonefather,

Thanks for your offer of help.

I am currently on Freetime 750. I have been with T-mobile since 2000 and my contract renews in January - I have been told I can change price plan though.

My bills are coming in at the moment around £40-50. I find that I dont use many of my minutes as I dont tend to phone, prefer to text. I would be more likely to phone if I had everyone minutes rather than the off peak, t-mobile and landline ones that I have. I have taken out text bundles also from time to time as an allowance of 50 doesnt go far.

Generally I use my phone mostly to text and try not too phone too much. I would ideally like my bill to come down nearer £30 or even cheaper if possible.

    Thanks again.

    Christine,

If you use lots of texts and you're not bothered about staying on T-mobile then try o2's Online tariffs:-

Their cheapest offpeak tariff is 300mins xnet offpeak, 500 texts per month, 1mb of GPRS data all for £20 per month (for an extra you can have 500mins xnet offpeak).

Their cheapest anytime tariff is 50anytime xnet mins, 500 texts per month, 1mb of GPRS data all for £19 per month (for an extra £6 you can get 100mins anytime xnet).

For more info on above tariffs visit http://shop.o2.co.uk/cgi-bin/o2uk/jsp/tariffs/selectTariff.do?menu=y

If you are happy with your current phone and don't want/need another phone then consider their SIM only contracts. These SIM only contracts are only subject to a 30 day minimum term contract and they are currently doing a double mins/text offer.

For example, the cheapest off peak tariff is £20 and gives you 600xnet off peak mins, 1000 (yes 1,000) texts, 1mb of GPRS data (for £5 extra you can have 1,000xnet off peak mins).

The cheapest anytime tariff is 200 mins anytime xnet, 1000 texts, 1mb GRPS data all for £25.

More info about these SIM-only (30 day minimum term contract) see http://shop.o2.co.uk/cgi-bin/o2uk/jsp/tariffs/selectSimOnlyTariff.do?menu=y

I also think Orange (via their website) are generous with texts. In my experience T-mobile & voda are not generous with texts whatsoever.
