sales suddenly switched on

Ebay can be an on/off sort of site. I am a terribly small seller so sell a handful of things every day and was really only selling a minimum of things these past few weeks with many of my usual BIN items not attracting any sales at all.

Then suddenly on Friday it was like someone switched a button on and the sales have just started flooding in. I almost ran out of one BIN yesterday despite having calculated I had enough for the next couple of weeks, so have restocked today and started selling those as well and have just made arrangements for more stock to be put aside for me to collect this week if the sales continue.

Another BIn that has been limping on is completely sold out and i have very little chance of any more before Christmas.

It's really weird.

Last posting days coming up? I would imagine with all the weather chaos reportedly wreaking havoc on RM people are buying now just in case there is further disruption before Christmas.

I think it's coming up to pay day - we're expecting to see a huge boost in sales at work next week.

It was obviously welcome :j , I am hoping to boost my feedback in case the idiot i am having trouble with on the other thread leaves poor feedback (and I am sure he will) . It was just a bit of a shock, this is about my 13th Christmas on ebay and I hadn't noticed such a sudden surge this early.

Same here stuff flying out that i've not long listed-my listings are dropping off quicker than i can put them back up.

Whilst yours has been switched on, I think I have been switched off, I've sold nothing over the weekend, which is wierd because I usually sell loads on a weekend. Suppose it will save me getting wet in the rain on the way to the post office. I don't think my wonderful bargain yet amazing gifts are being seen!

I sold nothing at all overnight, but between 8- 9 I have sold 2 things (and for me that is unusual)

I have more post going today than I would normally have in a week. I was going to upload some things to my private account yesterday for the free listing, but didn't have time as I was having to go out in the car to collect more stock and replenish my business listings.

Well mine's been switched off too! I usually have so much to post on Monday's I can barely get anything else done but I've got 2 today. I think they need to switch me back on now pretty please.

What do you sell though? There's markets...and markets. And there are other variables that make sales, so perhaps (if you are a business) you need to think about how you are promoting your listings, whether you are achieving your optimum position in search and so on, how your competitors are doing and so on. My first move would be to check completed listings in your category and see what is selling, if anything. Buyers can be very fickle and even a slight advantage from a competitor can knock you out.

I sell mostly s/h items on Amazon, and I haven't had a sale since October. But of course people are now spending money on new items and saving money towards the big event.

Crowqueen you are probabley right, I am a business seller, but I think my listings look better than my competitors (although i may be bias!), I also have 100% feedback, and my dsrs are lowest 4.6 highest 4.9, so you would think they would sell over my competition (who do sell), However I have just undone a multi listing variation into single listings, and two have just sold straight away in the past hour, weird, that must be the way to 'switch on'. So i am going to change my others into single listings, which is a pain. i think it is the multi varaiation listings that are not showing up at all, or completely lost in searches. Anyway my main priority now is my lunch, all this rain makes me really hungry!
