google on ie 8

Hi All,
Currently on ie 8 with google as my browser. When I search on google it automatically goes to the WEB pages of that search I have to change it to pages from the UK to view UK pages.
Is there anyway that I can get google to go straight to the UK pages first and then if I want to go to the web I can change it.
Basically a role reversal Uk first, web option change.

Thanks

Do you mean Window 8 and using Google Chrome as a browser, or Internet Explorer 8 with Google as the default search engine?
In the latter case you just need to set the default home screen to
    http://www.google.co.uk/
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Google is not a browser, Google is a search engine. Your browser is IE8.
Simply change your home page in IE8 to www.google.co.uk
Both google.com and google.co.uk are web pages...

Thanks for replies. On i/explorer 8 and googleuk set as default.
However when google main page appears and I type in a search when page appears it is still going to the web as opposed to "pages from the uk" I have to use the search tool on the page and switch to display pages from the uk.
How do I get google to go direct to pages from uk and not the web in general

Set the 1st language to UK English in Preferences>Language (as opposed to US English, whch may be the default).

    Hi macman,
Thanks for help so far. Have done the above and it still goes to web first and not pages from the uk. looks like I'll just have to keep switching everytime I search.Bit of a pain in the rear really.
  • Get the IE8 browser on your screen, click Tools, Internet Options (right at the bottom), General, and at the top of the box you should see the Home Page section. Delete what is in there and insert: http://www.google.co.uk/

    Then click Apply or OK.
