Morning all,
the gales in the night were horrendous however, the sun is shining this morning and theres hardly any wind. The day looks promising!
Did the usual bits and peices yesterday and all is well. I must say i pleased the way our grocery bills are coming down. All it needed was a bit of organisation and effort. I wouldnt say my standards have lowered either.
Phoned Auntie last night. Her friend and carer has been in hospital for 4 weeks with a brain hemorrage. Her son has been doing the best he can to care for her but its not working out well.
I said i'd go shopping for her later as she hasnt got a single bar of soap in the house and the flannels have gone awol. She asked me to get her some 'Clover'..... only a small tub she says (which means ive got to hunt round looking for a small tub of Clover). Ive been here before. Mother used to send me on wild goose chases round the shopping centre for specific things. You would think if they were desperate for something they would settle for anything (within reason obviously).
Right I'd best get on with things. Got a million and one jobs to do today and the men are still fast asleep.
Have a happy Sunday all,This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

FS hope you feel better
Bit hungover this morning so have forgotten everything else:eek:
Hugs and spoons all round
We had a lovely meal last night with dd and her fella. I made healthy choices food wise but it was a special deal where they bought a different drink with each course, so champagne white and red wine have left me with a headache:(
Missed strictly so will catch up today, am planning a lazyish day but I do want to go for a run later. I wore a new size 12 dress last night and felt great:D
I also want to make Spicy Parsnip Soup today as I have a bag that need using up.
Other than that plan to write some Christmas Cards ready for posting just before we leave, 10 days and counting:TStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Good Morning All
Nmlc - hope mum recovers soon
Butterfly B - fingers crossed for no damage
Another one up early here with the wind - still blowing out there but the sun is out. Had a nice peaceful couple of hours surfing and pottering while everyone was asleep, OH is now up and going to cook a fry up in a moboth kids still in bed.
Will let my breakfast settle then attack the ironing pile. I sorted my summer/winter wardrobe this week (at long last) and a few bits need ironing too - not too much though.
Roast Pork for dinner today with all the trimmings, have lots of milk in also so may send out OH for some cauliflower and have cauliflower cheese with it.
Really should get some stuff listed on ebay today - I really hate that job though
Anyway, kettle needs putting on again, have a great day all.x0 -
Morning all,
Slept in till 9it was bliss, I stayed up too late watching a film last night. dd is still in bed, but I have shouted her.
Terrible storms here too last night, I took the dog out in the garden before bed, and the wind was banging against the windows  and blowing things about the garden.
DD is off out with her dad today, its his Birthday, so they will probably go for lunch somewhere.
Sistercas its my dd's Birthday On wed, 18 years  how did they get so grown up.
Not sure what we are up to today, I need OH to hoover through, and I will shove dd's bedding in after ours, but other than that the day is free.
Got my present stash out yestersday, and I am much further on with presents than I thought, I knew I only had dd's stocking fillers and mums present to buy, but I have almost finished dd, so a few bits for her and mum to buy for :T
Carbonara for dinner tonight, I always do a quick dinner at the weekends as we are normally busy, we have a roast during the week.
OK have good days all xx0 -
So much for planning - have finally managed to get in shower after stripping the bed, unloading dishwasher, reloading it with pots that have been steeping overnight, making me and dh a cup of tea, and trying to convince dh that his habit of putting laundry in a 30 degree was not a good idea when it came to bedding and towels.
Feel tired before I even get dried and dressed.
DH is amazed we have used up a full sack of onions - not sure what he thinks I use in soups, stews, lasagne, pies etc.;)
One dd is not a fan of traditional lunches so the chicken and stir fry veg should appeal to her and if dh is disappointed there are no yorkie puds then tough! There will be a big plateful of food with loads of veg and a plum crumble for afters to stop any whinging .
I will of course be using the oven space for crumble instead of yorkies (attempts to look innocent).
Judi
I remember being a size 12 (sigh) then size 14 after twins then yo yo ing to a giddy variety of sizes since. Well done and enjoy the results of your efforts.
Need to go and put oven on for chicken so quick hug to all."This site is addictive!"

Morning all,
Been busy so have missed the last couple of days on here, will catch up later. I've been looking after DGD2 because DD2 has been poorly and DGD3 has fluid on 1 lung and terrible ear and throat infection, Dr. can't give her anything because it's a viral infection.
So I've spent a lot of time cooking and shopping for them and having DGD2 staying here. I took her swimming y/day, she has been moved from the baby to 3yr old class to the 5-8yr class. She's only 3yrs old. She's like a fish in water and came 1st in every length they swam. The others in the lesson are 6, 7, and 8yrs. Boast over !
Y/day made a batch of cup cakes, a steak and onion pie, 2 quiches and an apple crumble. That should keep DD & Sil2b going. All veg prept to go with roast chick for our dinner. Bm has pinged, just got to swish the kitchen floor and give the bathrooms a lick and a promise.
Hope all you poorlies get well soon. (( hugs)) to all.

I know sistercas my "baby" is 18 as well.
Update on the roof DH has manage to free the piece of ariel that was hanging, but noticed that the flashing has lifted. Our neighbour has had problems with his roof as well and has called back the man who did his repairs, so he will ask him to take down what is left of the ariel and do the flashing and see how much that will cost, I am so glad that we have already got all the Christmas food and presents, could really do without this sort of expense thoughDH said that it will cost us more in the long run if we use the insurance company so for the sake of a few hundred pounds at least we keep our no claims status
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

its scary isnt it one minute they are babies the next they are off on their own doing their own thing
i cant believe your DD is 18 on wed - hope she has an incredible day :T
My Ds2 is 18 today:T:T:T He was born with a heart defect and spent a couple of weeks in intensive care. His heart defect was only found after he was a near miss for SIDS and I resuscitated him. Now I look at him and marvel as I am so lucky to have him and he is a strapping six footer with a wonderful nature.
Anyways we are having a family dinner later and DS2 choosing his favourite food. He did really well with money presents and is now better off than me:eek: (However he is very OS and MSE so something must have rubbed off!)
Forever Saving - hope you feel better soon.
I also saw that Pork Ragout and will try it soon.
Hugs xI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0
