low price contract ending - can I carry on?
Options
I have a good deal with 3 that is coming to an end.
I am on the one plan and my monthly bill is 18 pounds.
I'm wondering if i dont do anything - do I just carry on paying this amount or does it go up/ cancel?
I'd need to work out if this is a cheaper option as I do need to buy a new phone - but if it were can I just move the SIM. I presently have an I phone .
Thanks

Why don't you have a look at your contract? That or phoning 3 is the only way you'll know for certain.
The contract won't just cancel though, and I guess that it will keep going at the same price.0 -
Your contract doesn't 'end', only your minimum term. If you do nothing, it will continue on the same terms unless the contract states otherwise. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

£18 per month seems ludicrously expensive.
Consider moving to pAYG or sim-only.0 -
You may have a discount on your contract that ends with the minimum term. Networks way of encouraging you to sign up again, or get shot of you, which ever they fancy.0

i have just got s3 on the one plan and is £31 a month
also info for herongull if you can find same minutes on the one plan cheaper i would be grateful if you could point out where would get the following cheaper???
one plan
Inclusive UK voice minutes:
2000 mins
Inclusive UK text messages:
5000 texts
Three-to-Three UK calls:
5000 mins
Internet Allowance:
All-you-can-eat data (unlike EE lol)
basil0 -
This is very cheap for the one plan as not only is data unlimited, you are permitted to tether, the only Three plan that allows that. All the more so if an Iphone was included in the contract.
Since it was offered to you by Three at that excellent price then it is possible that a discount was applied for the minimum term which will be removed. There's also the small matter of the new phone which is going to be hundreds of pounds if you want another Iphone or similar?
May necessitate a different sim size too.0 -

Why is there any need for a new phone though? Doesn't sound like the OP is bothered. Just because phone companies can make more money by repeatedly convincing consumers that they 'need' to upgrade, doesn't mean everyone has to go along with this!0 -
no a sim only deal for this one plan is £25 so £18 is very cheap and info for op your contract carrys on as was, only you become free at any point you wish to give them a months notice from now.

But how can anyone use this much? If you don't use it, then it is wasted!
Ovivo give you a free bundle of 100 minutes, 100 texts and 200mb and unlimited Ovivo to Ovivo calls and texts.
http://ovivomobile.com/our-offer/1
Not many people need more than this, but if you do need more you can buy 150 extra minutes or 150 extra texts or for £5 or 300 extra mb.
Another alternative is Giffgaff
For £10 you get 250 minutes, unlimited texts and 1G of data.
Just pay for what you need, and use the savings to have fun and get a life.0 -
