Parking & data protection

I have read so many blogs about excel parking, I recently unknowingly broke one of their rules at liverpool airport I have received ticket from the them through the post demanding £60.00 I have taken on board what advice is given from this forum, what really annoys me is the fact they actually photograph my car & number plate, yet I read the DVLA has banned them for three months I would appreciate any comments or advice on this

They are currently banned from data access to the dvla, read my signature below, so don't appeal as this is the only way they get your details. If you do get anything in the mail let us know please
Excel Parking, MET Parking, Combined Parking Solutions, VP Parking Solutions, ANPR PC Ltd, & Roxburghe Debt Collectors. What do they all have in common?
They are all or have been suspended from accessing the DVLA database for gross misconduct!
Do you really need to ask what kind of people run parking companies?

I guess they are using another company to circumvent the ban. If I were you I'd be contacting the DVLA asking who they have released your details to recently.

Hi there. I think the OP said that the "fine" notice was sent in the post, so it seems that DVLA have released the details. the ban on Excel started on 16 October. I read something about related companies sharing information unlawfully. Is this not worthy of a compalint to DVLA about unlawful data sharing?

In that case they have definitely circumvented the ban IMO , is there any way you can get images of both the ticket and letter up online , just scrub them of your personal details but leave the dates there so we can make sure it's in the ban period. There is an email address to the dvla that you can complain to then directly, but they need to see unaltered images.

Ooh, we might have one here.

We need to be 100% sure of the date of the incident, the date of the notice from Excel, to be dead certain it is Excel, and to confirm you have not been in any contact with them prior to the notice.

As Taffy has said, we need to see copies of all the paperwork you have received, suitably redacted as stated (do NOT redact the dates!).
  • Thanks so much for your help. I will upload this info tomorrow . Cheers!

Thanks very much :) please don't make alterations to the physical documents themselves, you can use a free program like Microsoft Paint to make changes once you scan or take a photo of the images. If you need help there'll be queue here offering advice ;)
