TravelEx Cash Passport Globe - now less competitive

Has anyone else noticed that this forum's favourite prepaid card recommendation has changed its terms?
It now costs £10 to buy the card, and the transaction fee has gone up from 1.49% to 2.49%.
So it looks like Kalixa is going to be the best prepaid option for most people now, although the TravelEx Globe card is still a bit cheaper if the usage is purely cash withdrawals under £90. Unless of course there are any new cards on the market that I'm not aware of.

Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks

It's still 1.49% if you brought it before 19th November:

Has anyone who bought their card before November 2012 managed to get a second card or a replacement card with a new expiry date?
Mine is valid until 2015, but I know I've got a massive trip coming up at around that time.
Also while it states that the minimum load is £250 I can't see any penalties outlined for trying to load smaller amounts.0 -
Makes a cheap day return to London to visit Metro Bank an even better option.0

Hi
I have a cashpassport globe card - and I have recently used it to purchase something in US $ - my purchase date was 17th Jan - but according to my cashpassport account page, the transaction has been posted to my account on 19th - I seem to have been charged a very poor rate - my assumption was that I'd get the Mastercard daily rate less 1.49% (having had my card prior to the recent change).
The Mastercard rate for 17th Jan was $1.6036 - so a rate of $1.5797 should have been used (ie: 1.49% less).
So on my $400 purchase, I should be charged (400/1.5797 = £253.21
Instead I have been charged £256.05 - ok not a big difference but it is the principle.
Interestingly, a 2.49% deduction would have meant a charge of £255.80 - so I can only assume that Travelex have not used the Mastercard daily rate for 17th Jan as their base rate.
The daily rate for 19th does not seem to be available as yet - but does anyone know for certain which rate they use and which day (ie: the day of the purchase? or date of posting?)
Many thanks

If it's posted on the 19th then that's the rate they use. Mastercard won't give their rate for the 19th yet, but using Visa's calculation you would have been charged £255.99 (including the 1.49% charge) - Mastercard being 6p different on that amount of money isn't particularly unusual.0
