New front door - anyone used Yaledoor.co.uk?

We're shopping for a new front door. We want a composite door with the new Yale keyfree system fitted. We've just had a quote for £1,675 from Britelite, when seems pretty pricey. On the other hand we found a web quote from yaledoor.co.uk for the same door/fitting for half that price - £850.
Has anyone here got any feedback to offer on Yaledoor?

more spam and slagging off Yaledoors! https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/4145807

What is wrong with a steel door. These ones should give you enough time to dispose of your drugs, should the wrong sort come knocking :)

No idea how much they cost though

    here is the video http://www.high-security-doors.co.uk/videos-demo.php

Yes, not cheap, but look like they will keep people out. Seen something similar in the Czech Republic and was impressed.

You can get others here for £499 http://www.high-security-doors.co.uk/

Sorry I do not need a 'security rating' to tell me a thick steel door is more secure than a plastic one, and thet the weakest point are the locks and hinges

  • You can try doorsdirect2u.co.uk. They have a fairly decent range of front doors. We got a door from them, pretty decent service as well.

I used Fusion Doors in the end. Decent price and the service was mostly good (apart from not turning up until 13:45 for an appointment that was supposed to be from 09:00 to 13:00)
  • Be prepared for a world of pain. Yaledoor have absolutely NO customer service, so if anything goes wrong with your order, you are alone.
I've just won £491 refund from Yaledoor, as they settled out of court. Quite why I had to take them to court rather than them come to fix the terrible installation I have no idea. I hope their solicitors bill was very big!

  • I had the worst consumer experience in my 45 years. I am taking the time to write this in the hope you make an informed decision.

Firstly it is important to note that Yale doors are only licensed by Yale.

You have www yaledoors co uk and then you have Yale, there website is following: www yale co uk[/url

Save yourself any inconvenience. Go to wwwyalecouk you simply enter your postcode and you are given a list of local companies who in fact offer all level of services from only supplying Yale products to measure and supply to measure, supply and fit.

I was lucky and have now received three quotes by local companies. The quote prices are very much the same. In fact they are all aproxametly£300.00 more than Yale doors.

I was very lucky to get a refund from Yale doors. this was my order number with Yale doors 109005, therefore it is a fact I was a yaledoor customer.

A little about trustpilot reveiw website, I am not the only one who has concerns about the reviews posted their. All I do know is as of 17.03.2013 the feedback that I left has been removed and is currently being reviewed by trustpilot at the request of Yale doors.

That speaks volumes about how trustpilot review website works and further considering the fact that companies pay to advertise and appear to be able to control feedback in my opinion is reason enough to doubt all reviews posted.

It is a sad fact that whilst the web is a valued source of information, that information can be controlled and again money can get you placed at the top of searches. Again Yale doors are a very good example if you simply did a search and no more, without doubt you will only see good reviews however scratch away at the surface and you then start to find bad review followed by bad review.

In my opinion it is only websites like money experts who are unbiased and no money is changing hands.

I will leave good feedback when due likewise I will leave negative feedback after a negative experience. And if my motives are questioned I would refer people to amazon UK where to date I have never needed to leave negative feedback in aproxametly 40 transactions.

Whilst I think Yale doors maybe the cheapest. Cheapest isn't always the best and I think Yale doors are a good example.

I am giving up my time writing this reveiw hoping to save you a bad experience.

Surprised to find out that Yale Door are only licensed by Yale. Contractors they use in Hampshire as of 15 03 2013 have poor service history. in my case Yale doors worst shopping experience I have ever had, they took a diselikeing to me because I simply had justifiable concerns and questions, they Made me feel like I shouldent be questioning them.

I was lucky, dispite completing my sale via telephone Yale Door told me they were cancelling my order because I dident read the sales terms on the Internet or the email I was sent.

Yale door wasted a lot of my time and effort. There MD appears to refusing to reply to my correspondence.

Strange that! Buy a product over the telephone, then subsequently company want to apply terms that wernt agreed.

My advice is go to www yale co uk AND NOT www yaledoor co uk

At www yale co uk you will find a very usefull tool that after entering your postcode you will get a list of local company's that will fit everything that Yale Door fits. I had quotes from six company's in my area. They where all good company's with excellent customer service.

Ask yourself one question if Yale fitted doors , why would they have an alternitive website that puts you in touch with other company's offering simular product.

Actually what I liked at www yale co uk you where given many options. You could get Yale locks fitted to your existing door, including there latest wireless locks. Or company's that would measure, supply, fit.

When I started my search for a door, the Yale brand was very important and I was nearly taken in by www yaledoor co uk and I was at a loss after concerns with there contractors and there owen poor customer service it was purely the name Yale that drew me to them however www yale co uk has put me in touch with local company's that I can research and are well known locally to me.
  • Yale Door have now supplied doors to over 5000 very happy customers. It is never our aim to offer cheap doors, just to offer the best door possible for realistic prices.

This policy, along with now taking absolutely no payment up front, has led to our doors being remarkably popular. This popularity did lead to there being a period of time when some customers did not experience the service that we aim to deliver. This period also coincided with our recruiting the support of a service team who did not meet our standards. The result of this is that over the past 6 months we have trebled our workforce, doubled our working area, removed the inadequate support team and recruited significantly more site engineers. We regret that some customers, during this period, feel that they did not get the service that we are now delivering.
  • My parents had a yale door fitted - they had a minor issue with the lock, which was promptly rectified - the door was fitted around a year ago and they are happy with it
