Down the drain literally .....

Last night I dropped my I phone down the drain no I wasn't drunk it was one of those freak moments you walk past a drain putting your phone in your pocket ( won't be doing that again !!) but now im phoneless tried scooping it out but it was too far down and sunk further down. Trying to find out if it's worth calling the insurance it's a 3GS the excess is £100 does anyone know how much the insurance ( thru Lloydstsb bank a.c) might offer as a replacement ?
Got an upgrade in next 6 weeks so wondering if I should hold off for now get a crap £20 phone rather than using the insurance as only get 2 claims a year advice anyone ???

If you've not claimed before then why not claim and use the phone, and switch to a sim only to save money at upgrade time?
