Virgin Atlantic Autofill Con

Please be aware that when booking with Virgin Atlantic, the details from your Frequent Flyer Account are auto filled into the online screen.
My wife's name "Jacky" was autofilled instead of "Jacqueline". In my haste of booking and ensuring that I got the correct dates and times I did not spot "my" error.
So, you will be charged £30 to change my E-Ticket for something that you never entered.

Have you spoken to them about this? It is good practice not to charge for "obvious mistakes" noticed within 24 hours of booking: even Ryanair would not charge in this situation.0 -
Call them and explain, you're correcting an error not changing a name.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0

I'm pretty sure when you sign up for frequent flyer schemes your name must match what you travel under, so you not only made a mistake and didn't check yourself when booking your flight, you've made a mistake and didn't bother reading anything when signing up for frequent flyer schemes..
Not a CON at all, you just need to learn to read, and double check things.

Where in my post did I request for all this speculative advice?
I know perfectly well what I've done wrong.
I don't want other people to make the same mistake.0 -

So the lesson to be learned is ...... have the good sense to fill in your details correctly when you are registering for an airlines frequent flyer program. :whistle:Frustrated_From_Norwich wrote: »I don't want other people to make the same mistake. The MSE Dictionary

But as has been posted, you wont be charged if you get in touch with Virgin straight away.
You may not have asked for advice but you did head you post with
this is a con, when it clearly isnt0 -
As per usual, there is no con at all. Yet to see a thread titled as such where there is one.
You couldn't be arsed to check the details were correct. Your error.0 -

Agree - a 'hey, heads up that this could be an issue for others, so be careful' instead of the 'con' thing would likely have been met with different responses.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0
