  • rising I'd be tempted to clear the freezer - really even when its snowed terribly has it ever been so bad that you are snowed in for more than a couple of days?

mmmmm that's the problem - the bad winter (2010?), couldn't get the car out for 4 weeks . (That's what the bus fund money in my sig's for - it costs £8 / day compared to £3 in fuel:eek:).

Local shop (1 C00P) ran out of stuff on day 1 & didn't get any deliveries for that whole time :(

Town where I work only has 1 SM - and only a wee one (sort of like an Express store you'd get in town) and it also ran out of stuff on Day 1 and only had sporadic deliveries .....

The joys of living in the country! Think I'll aim to use 1/2 the stuff.

Good news is that, after my clear-out / repack of the freezers, I've got a bit more room!:)

Will be making pasta bake this afternoon as I've got 2 jars about to go OOD (end Nov) so should get around 6 meals from these :T but unfortunately on the "can't eat" list atm too.
    Grocery Challenge £211/£455 (01/01-31/03)

    £1,000 Emergency Fund Challenge #78 £3.96 / £1,000
    Vet Fund: £410.93 / £1,000
Debt free & determined to stay that way!

Not been out today as weather awful - so another NSD. Looks like I've sold something on eBay - will know for def in an hour or so. Trying to sort out my freezers (!!) I've got 3 and there's only 2 of us  I did defrost the one indoors & labelled all the drawers so I can keep it fairly organised, but there's a tall upright & a fridge/freezer (both Freecycle ;)) in the garage.
There's lots of fruit from the garden & I have stocked up with stuff for Christmas. Gonna do the Fruit Cobbler recipe from the Tough Times thread for tomorrow & use up some of my plums
Small victories - sometimes they are all you can hope for but sometimes they are all you need - be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle

    Hi everyone,

I've had a lovely long lie in today & then got out of bed to a nice coffee & breakfast made by my DH :happyhear Really need to crack on with some more MSE stuff though!

Thanks LPP for starting us, glad you're on the mend.
Ally - What a lovely surprise from Ikea!
RFTA - I think you've got the right idea about half filling it, that should be enough but you'll also save money.
NewlyFrugal - Hope your dog is better soon.

    Today I have/will:-
    • Food from stores
    • Dinner from meal plan may have to be amended slightly to avoid buying more food...I'm thinking something simple like fishcakes tonight or some pasta :o
    • Charge phone via pc
    • Heating off as long as possible, lots of layers are the way forward
    • Daily clicks etc on Sw@gbucks
    • Log calories using free app
    • Checked online banking
    • Surveys
    • Declutter & flylady
    • Check for new mystery shopping opportunities
    • Enter some comps
    • Thinking about what to get people for Xmas & how best to stick to my budget for DH...Need to email some family members who have asked what they can get him, if I know he's getting what he wants from them too I won't feel the need to spend so much on him! Must do this as I can feel myself going OTT already!
    • Need to update grocery challenge still...
    • Check out grabbit board
    • Stalking Black Friday deals on Amaz0n, doesn't seem to be anything worth getting today though!

So pleased to hear the toothache's getting a bit better :) & well done for paying off your sister:j

Re getting stuff done ..... shucks :obut I'm normally nowhere near as good as this - put it down to being housebound for 4 weeks, living by myself (so having no-one to distract me with other things to do!) and the dog being away.... trying to keep myself occupied so I don't go insane being stuck indoors!:o
