Yes, and petty as it sounds, I'm going back to the branch when that employee is there, and make him serve me this time with a smug grin on my face.
Refusing to use common sense and relying on a easily worked around method to prevent fraud is laughable. People here thinking a signature is fail safe is in denial. If I really stole a passport that looks so real, all I had to do was look at the signature and spend several minutes practicing writing it before walking into the bank.
That employee even addressed me by my passport's name, claimed he doesn't believe my passport is fake but he apparently can't confirm my identity. He then suggests me to use my overdraft instead of transferring money into it before using the card. Would a person who genuinely believes the bank card's been stolen suggest to the customer to use the overdraft, instead of calling the police? His attitude shows he knows those bank cards are mine and he's taking the !!!!.0 -

I'd like to see you remain polite if this happened to you. I actually felt like an illegal immigrant/thief/criminal after I was turned away despite showing my passport.0 -
I can certainly be polite yet still manage to get my point fully and clearly across.0

But if its YOUR signature, then you should be able to reproduce it without even looking at your passport or anything else which has your signature on it.
I agree with Hominu, the cashier was just being cautious when you didn't sign your signature correctly. Nothing wrong with that.0 -
Regardless of what Customer Relations have told you, that employee is unlikely to be disciplined. I would be very surprised if details of the complaint were 'put on their file'.
Expected outcome - Customer Relations send an email to the assistant branch manager outlining your complaint, and their response. For information only.
Don't expect anything more than that.0 -
Every time I sign my name, it looks different.
Probably as I don't sign it very much any more as I no longer use cheques.0
