  • winning the lottery without entering, now that's a clever trick :j . Best get your cheque book out cos you'll soon be rolling in it ;) so you can afford to go temporarily bankrupt when you have to pay those thousands of pounds to get your rightful winnings tranferred to your UK account :T - bloody european union bureacracy

  • i've had some of these, quite a few lately. They all must be from the same place because they all look identical, just with the name of the company and money won changed. One was supposidly from coca cola telling me i had won 1.5mil lol. hilarious. just delete them
  • Lol, I've had them, the Microsoft one and the ones from the Nigerians too.

is there someone i should send this email to or is it best to ignore it. i get the feeling though someone might think they have actually won. I can imagine if you reply to the email someone is going to ask you for youre bank details. more gullable persons might give them

I've just had this message but in a slightly different form. They sent it to me by post and in order to claim my £200,000 all they want is my name and address (they already have that from somewhere, they sent me the letter) and a name and address of a next of kin in case they can't contact me (is that the part they're after?). There is a space for me to tick if I want my winnings by bank transfer(then the spaces for my back details) but I could just tick to say I'll collect it from them or they an send a cheque.

Are they just hoping for people to opt for the bank transfer? Or they'll tell me later their cheque printing machine is broken and they need to do a direct transfer?

Is there any chance it's genuine?

Is there any harm in confirming my name and postal address, giving them a fake next of kin and requesting a cheque?

Of course it's not genuine. Have you entered this competition? why do you think somebody would give you all this money for nothing? There is no prize money.

All they want people to do is either give them their bank details or ask them to for ever increasing amounts of money for "legal fees" and "local taxes" before they will release the non-existent prize. I have heard of one poor woman who has parted with £38,000 in this way and (of course) hasn't received any money in return.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?
