It's probably best to give them a call and check. It comes in on Monday. If women are birds and freedom is flight are trapped women Dodos?0 -
it wont close smokey. csa were told not to talk about it, untill it was literally on top of everyone, Our case finished last wk, it starts again next wk.
Good news for pwc, not so good for nrp0 -
Gave them a call back and guess what she and everyone else in her office knew nothing about it,she had to go speak to someone else and came back with the statement "im sorry but thats the first weve heard of it" absolutley unbelieveable.....................BCSC NO 400

Well what a surprise!! Well i never!!
The staff at the CSA can't lie straight in bed,
They must have been told to keep stum as they know that they will get some constructive coments made to them by concerned N.R.P' who have had a few more years of there lives taken away from them. No doubt they will blame your M.P. and the govement, but these M.P's and govement only take notice of govement bodies like the CSA, child benefit etc,
you would think that the 20 year old rule would only apply to new cases. I bet that they are not as slow to introduce this rule as they were when everyone was supposed to go onto CSA2 in 2006, but never happened due the mismanagement of the staff at the CSA, as has been stated in previous posts!!0 -
we have asked them repeatedly since october smokey, everytime we got the same answer as you, hubby called them last wk too confirm the case was closed, they said yes, till dec 10th when it can be reopened till she is 20!!!! i swear i have raged. Why didnt they tell us this in october!!
Unfortunately the csa dont know their backsides from their elbows! I agree jarhead, i thought the same as you, it would only apply to new cases, or for under 18s so to speak. Rather than let us know last minute.0 -

It's been in internal communications for a while - staff should be aware of it. The actual date is tied in to the 2012 scheme changes though, so it's been hard to confirm when this 'up to 20' change comes in until it was 100% confirmed that the future system will go live on 10th.
Will your daughter still be in education up until she's 20? If so, there's a chance that the case will remain open.0 -

Hi PFTF
My hubby posted this earlier.
He has been talking with CSA for the last few weeks as the elusive end "was" in sight. Previous CSA bods had mentioned it "might" go beyond but the one helpful person he has been talking to for the last 3 weeks was not aware. She is going to check if the course his daughter is on qualifies for CB - she is going to check to see if there is an "end date" in the system
To say we are gutted if this goes onto until 20 is an understatement
Cheers

smokey, u cant say things like your gutted that its going on till she is 20, i did, and got shot down for it lol

I am so glad, for the choice of words, that it isnt only me who feels like this, we had an end in sight so to speak, and the goal posts changed. We can not afford what we have to pay, we dont want to pay such an excessive amount, at the age of 19.
Prelude out of interest, do you work for the csa??0 -
Lol everyone is entitled to opinions if they don't like it tough
But this is the 2nd time we have been led to believe it was all over
Case was closed three yrs ago by CSA but that was a clerical error and "we" incurred nearly £4000 in arrears because of it. They have just been cleared and we thought the end was in sight.
Good luck the wife
