pelirocco,,, i support a child out of work,,, not once have i said he shouldnt support his child!!!!! I have said, that at 19 it should be his choice as too how much.

After years of being on the system , counting down to the day he no longer has to support his exes bills, he has always given his daughter money , and pressies as well, money permitting. Its a god damn shame, having the goal posts moved!!!!!

For what its worth i am both a pwc and nrpp, so i do see both sides of it.

    Thank you marisco ;)

just another thought pelirocco, if a child is out of work , and age 18 plus, they qualify for job seekers, my husband is paying a lot more than that a week,,, so if the law says you need xyz to live on a week, why does he have to pay xyza and b.

I support my out of work child by putting a roof over their head, and food in their tummy, that is all i can do.

really.,? because the legislation for the new system states that this legislation is effective from the date that the case moves to the "gross income details" system...

or is it a seperate set of legislation...

if not... does the following in the same legislation mean i can get the csa to remove my tax credits from the calculation:

    The Child Support Maintenance

    Calculation Regulations 2012

    PART 4THE MAINTENANCE CALCULATION RULES
    CHAPTER 1

i say we all write a letter (those of us in the tax credit boat) to query, as this legislation makes no mention of the tax credits, but clearly states what is income...

however: this is where it comes into force:

As far as I'm aware it's a different set of legislation - the 'child up to 20' is for all schemes - 1993/2003/2012.

    Hi
A couple of people have mentioned the 10th of December for the new scheme starting,is that rumour of fact ? I've not seen any dates published officially!

It's when the initial pilot starts - first of all it's only going to be for cases where there are 4 or more kids.

so, prelude, does that mean, if you have three or less children you have to wait longer to claim till they are 20

Prelude stated he/she believes it's a separate legislation and the 'up to 20' rule is for ALL systems. The '4 or more' children thing is for the new system coming in itself. So they're seperate

Yup, that's correct. 'up to 20' will affect ALL cases, from Monday.

Any applications from Monday where there are 4 or more children will be on the 2012 scheme, if there are 3 or less children then they'll be on CS2.

amazing that eh, considering most cases will have less than 4 kids

lol... from what ive read, most cases might not be moved over for 2 or three years yet, at the earliest...

Err, that's kinda the point. You go live with a pilot to make sure everything works as it should - after a few months you widen the entry criteria, then if everything is still working fine you open it to all new cases...

I did read that anyone who is on CSA1 and has 3 years or less to run on their case will stay on that case until its finishes, the only chance of changing to a different scheme is if someone else puts in another claim for maintenance,
So it look like my girlfriend won't be moving in with me for another two yrs when my son turns 20 (if they don't up the age limit again!!) because as someone rightly stated on here the P.W.C. gets alot more maintenace then what job seeker allowance is. So there is no way that my ex would encourage my son leave full time education and get a job, as it would effect her weekly income by £100 aweek :beer:
