Selling tickets on Ebay for more money

The only time it would be wring would be if the ticket was sold as not for transfer or not for resale and/or the venue checked ID against the purchase.0

Whilst I understand the OP frustrations, wouldn't have minded some tickets myself (had to be at York hospital by 10am but live in scarborough) there were 600 tickets available in scarborough and more on the internet see here: http://www.yorkshirecoastradio.com/news/local-news/820687/gary-barlow-comes-to-scarborough/
However everywhere had sold out by the time I could get to a computer. We shan't be bothering now as I also begrudge paying well over the odds.
Edit to say the futurist scarborough seats 2150Owner of a cute cottage in the North York Moors :j0 -
Promoters and venues don't seem to care - they mark their tickets as being non-transferable and not for resale, but don't do anything to enforce these terms.
Yes they do. Look at the thread on Robbie Williams at the O2, where the person ordering tix has to turn up with their credit card as the ticket.
I went to see Tom Waits the last time he was in the UK, and again, had to take the card I'd booked the tix with in order to get in. And it got more than just a cursory glance from the ticket checker.0 -

Fair comment. There does seem to be more of this going on now. But these gigs are still in a tiny minority. And often I think they're driven by the artists who want to make sure fans get a fair deal, rather than by the promoters (or whoever's actually in charge of ticketing).0 -
I personally hate touting. I do think there should be some sort way to sell a ticket if you can't go to a venue back to the venue to sell on to people in a 'queue' if you like. Like a reserve list, if someone wants to sell tickets back that person can claim it, if not goes to the next person in the queue.
It needs a system to eliminate touts (like glastonbury, having a photo on ticket) but also have a way for people to sell their ticket on if they can't go at face value to others.
I've only ever had to sell one ticket to a gig on the internet and the selling fees on ebay can add up. If I had the option to sell back to the venue that would have been good.0 -
Hi,
I don't think its right that Ticketmaster has a "subsidiary" that resells tickets. There are numerous tales of people who have bought from TM and got good seats being re-allocated poorer seats and TM then reselling their original tix.
Its the collusion that appears to go on that is annoying.
Cheers,

Rather than pick on poor individuals trying to make a few quid on tickets, why not go after the "organised criminals" who set up High Street shops?
Hmm , this is stretching it a bit , it might not be illegal to buy tickets and then sell them on for double the price 10 minutes later , but it certainly doesnt fall in the category of "poor individuals"0
